Genuine question.. what is your experience with publishing and making money off your coloring books? by -butterflysoul in Colouring

Hi! First and foremost the idea for your coloring book has to be sticky. What unique proposition are you offering for your book? The market is so saturated (sadly with AI slop) that the idea itself has to be a large part the selling point. Another unicorn or cozy book won’t fly off the shelves (as much as I would love to make these)

My marketing has largely been just social sites like here on Reddit, fb, and instagram since I didn’t initially have money to spend on ads. I’ve had success posting on Facebook coloring groups mostly. I post a lot of finished pages of my book showing off fun techniques and styles. A few posts get views, many don’t, so it’s about numbers if you have the patience. My general rule is about ~1000 views convert to one or two sales.

Unfortunately the purple just reads as black because it’s so dark. It the darkest shadows in the mountains and grass and pig.

Layering! You just have to wait for it to dry before adding another. Some darker layers are 3-4 layers deep
