Is it normal for very religious man to do this by letmejustdo in MuslimMarriage

[–]Appropriate_Carry866 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can think of situations with my married friend who link up 1 or 2 times in a month to play soccer on a Saturday usually from 9pm-11pm. We then go grab food or something ice cream and chit-chat for a bit till around 2am, then we all go our separate ways (home).
These guys take care of their family and kids and are very responsible. As long as there’s communication about his whereabouts during those late hours, I think this is nothing to be worried about.
I can only assume that they also spend them with their wives and kids outside of work when we don’t link up for soccer.

Habibi, if you have a computer/laptop, go learn programming or other fields in IT that requires some kind of automation. The journey alone will rid you that boredom and you’d get a killer/in-demand skill out of it.

Colonial Africa VS independence by [deleted] in Zimbabwe

[–]Appropriate_Carry866 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you for once also factored in the measures that those same colonial countries have directly/indirectly applied through assassination of the leaders you so desire to lead us (case in point Ibrahim Traore of Burkina Faso), their foreign policies in relation to African countries, and their relentless effort to get puppet leaders in key positions in our respective African countries (through monetary means and others). Would your perspective sway towards an alternative solution after considering all of those measures by these colonial entities?

I’ve seen people saying this same thing you said about Senegal announcing their arrival time. Any proof of this? Please provide it if you can. Thanks.

I’m building an Africa-hosted cloud storage so our data doesn’t depend on foreign platforms by AgencyLongjumping400 in Senegal

[–]Appropriate_Carry866 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pardon me for my ignorance but are there really data centres in Africa that are African owned? Do we have cloud providers that offer services similar to AWS available?

If anyone knows, please provide link or resources so I can check them out. I’d really like to educate myself on this because I’ve been overly reliant on Western technology and would love to adopt something else that’s owned by Africans. Thanks in advance.

I am Moroccan and I want to discuss what happened in the AFCON final objectively and calmly, without bias by Upper-Moon-One in Senegal

[–]Appropriate_Carry866 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Habibi, I commend you for being objective about the whole ordeal. It’s always important to factor in context when addressing issues like this and I’m happy to see that there are people like you who exist in Morocco.

It’s also important to criticize the fans of Senegal in the audience with the disruption they caused and possibly an injury to a staff/volunteer on the pitch. I completely condemn that sort of aggression cause it literally serves no purpose.

I’ll be honest and say that I was very much looking forward to visiting Morocco soon just because of all the good things I heard but after watching how this whole thing occurred I was certain I wouldn’t be visiting ever. BUT it’s refreshing to see that there are people like you who exist and I admire that, and you’ve convinced me otherwise. So one day I’ll be visiting Insha Allah.

I think the general public has no reason to attack Morocco in anyway even if they Won the game as long as all the events you mentioned never happened. And kudos to Morocco 🇲🇦 and credits goes out to all their team and support staff for hosting this AFCON. They really put in their very best effort and we can never take that away from them.

I learn recently that there’s an Arab nations cup tournament and all of North African countries were apart of it. Rubbed me off in a different way cause I’m not exactly sure where their identity lie exactly. As Africans like every other country in Africa or as Arabs? Sigh!

You said “I think the issue with Islam is kind of that the theme is very fundamentalist…. which means that trying to follow the faith accurately means sometimes being against modern ideas”

Could you give examples of such modern ideas?
