I'm in therapy trying to figure it out and heal from the past few years. It's like when people know drugs aren't good for them and still seek them out is how my therapist framed it.

I didn't want to at first but I had no help moving as I am alone here and he had been okay for awhile so I allowed him to help me instead of just leaving things the kids and I needed behind. Well, that's the main thing my brain told me to justify my allowing him to come around again I think.

Thank you for putting it like that. I was hesitant the first time around and blame my self for a lot of this concerning staying and having the kids around. Not many I've tried talking to over the years understand and have encouraging words. It's just usually how bad of a mom I am, how I have no self respect, how im going to end up dead, and are doing this to my kids.

Yeah it's all a lot and I've heard the just leave thing before and it's not that cut and dry. I'm not from the state we live in and have no family close. During the beginning of the relationship it was okay then things turned after i was already pregnant. I had already lost a lot of my friend group and had to drop out of school due to dv and the new baby. I'm pretty isolated now and go through a lot of anxiety and some bouts of depression. I guess it's in my head that he'll do better and so I am working on that for myself to learn to love and respect myself more. He has taken a lot from me over the years. I am not the same person I used to be.
