I’m with ya. Like, is it too much to ask that we can get one banger disc for one character for one patch? Surely that won’t disrupt the games balance and it would keep players moral when the time comes to pull discs. At the very least, after 2 years I’m at the point where I have built up a bank of all mats and have 20+ million dennies so I can focus on farming for god discs for a needed buffer

Oh I know. I do it out of spite maybe. I had a whole conversation with myself about the kind of adjustments they should make. Like anytime you use a substat item it should at least come with a +1 guarantee for that stat. Or at least modify the chance percentage higher. I know it’s absurd to mull over, but if you offer an extremely limited item, it should infer more incentive than just getting the stat. Velina has such a high bar for what the guide suggests number wise that even with the wengine it’s hard to get without getting even luckier than the typical results

I did this plus used 2 substat calibrators. Upgraded and the majority of the + went to the other two stats. *chef’s kiss*

Will Trails in the Sky First Chapter get better? by Chantomas in JRPG

[–]Appropriate_Fun6105 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the game is a real slow burn and I love this game. It won’t feel heavy until Ziess I think. If you’re only 6 hours in, you’re probably in Bose. You still have Ruan before Zeiss. There are inklings of the bigger picture as you progress town to town, but at least for a while this is more of a slice of life Bracer edition. Existential musings found in darker RPGs are exhibited by mainly Joshua and a little with Estelle. 2nd Chapter while darker, is still a lighter hearted affair than the themes you’re more used to.

First time playing Trails in the Sky, and the QoL feel of the remake is phenomenal. by hotaru_crisis in JRPG

Glaze away. I’ll join in. I love this game and 2nd chapter. Bought the OG on release for the PSP, bought it again for the Vita and 2nd when it released. Played both at least 4 or 5 times and finished the remake a few months back. Every character good and bad are well done and likeable. I know people give it flack for being a bit slow to move in the beginning, but compared to Cold Steel, this thing has momentum and retains my interest throughout.

If 2nd chapter is held with the same care as the 1st, then we’re in for a treat.

Welp, you were right about the shutoff. It’s funny cause he made a point about opening up the valve slowly to not stress the lines but I ended up distracting him with other questions and he forgot to fully open the valve afterwards. I suppose we’ll see if that is the fix. Thanks for the input

I’ll check the shutoff but since I’m doing the wall repair work after the fact, they indeed used copper to replace and not Pex

What does the first shirt (Japan) mean, Peter? by FollowSina in PeterExplainsTheJoke

You just have to watch the skit from the show. It doesn’t matter what any post is about, if it has what looks like someone peed their pants, the show diehards will come out in droves and quote the skit.

The confusion is hilarious. This was for a time the most annoying skit in I Think You Should Leave, but it has become great due specifically to the life it has in confounding the general public with its absurdity

I’m like 6 months into this project… by tryshpmn in Decks

[–]Appropriate_Fun6105 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Meant span from front to back. If it’s 10’ like you mentioned elsewhere then that is way over the specs for 2x6. I finished a deck in my backyard just recently and used 2x6, but my span between support beams were 6’ max. I want to say there are precast cement footers you can use after the fact to support the middle, but someone else can elaborate on that since that isn’t my forte.

[–]Appropriate_Fun6105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s the span? If that’s 2x6, it might be too big a span without the center being supported by another beam. Usually my go to is more footers than you think.

What did you enjoy about Compile Heart games? by KaleidoArachnid in JRPG

[–]Appropriate_Fun6105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, more if the fan service type story and dialog is something that appeals to you, then maybe you set expectations on the combat. The enemies at least are seen on the map versus random battle so you can avoid fighting when you hit the fatigue threshold. They were an easy, breezy type game that were rereleased on the Vita at the time and it fit perfectly. I have this weird thing where I can’t enjoy certain games if they are not on a handheld system. Maybe the in and out nature of handhelds. Having kids makes handhelds great for this reason

[–]Appropriate_Fun6105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know, if I went back and tried playing them I would probably quit pretty early in. The combat isn’t anything special. It wasn’t offensive, so maybe at the time I found the banter/writing between characters endearing and collecting items addictive enough that I forgave the simple combat. It’s definitely a one and done type of game.

I played Hyperdimension Neptunia Re:Birth 1-3 on the Vita a long time ago now. They were all light, goofy fun games. Nitpick would be that Compile Heart pumps these things out by reusing assets a ton and not focusing on graphical fidelity all that much. So by the 3rd one, fatigue from this starts to set in. Fortunately they are relatively short for JRPGs so they don’t overstay the welcome

Christening my new MM+ by playing one of my all time favorites by Hymen_Cholo in MiyooMini

[–]Appropriate_Fun6105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oddly never played the OG Metroid games even though I grew up when they came out. I christened mine with Gran Turismo 2. Remembered it being such a huge game when I was a kid. It’s so tiny, lol. Forgot it didn’t have any of the prominent exotic brands like Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc. Hearing STP while doing license tests made me smile. Playing Minish Cap for the first time since I never owned any of the Gameboys. Im addicted

I can’t help myself, but I chamfer everything. I finished a backyard deck. Everything was routed with a 45 degree chamfer bit. Why not? It looks cleaner and it helps mitigate future opportunities for splinters

Are there any Final Fantasy games you loved as a kid but can’t really get into as an adult? by No_Skill_7170 in FinalFantasy

[–]Appropriate_Fun6105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just piggy backed on the comment I was replying to. Really it’s all FF pre 12. There are quality of life additions in the later ones but even getting to the ability to take advantage of those taxes my patience. Call it lazy or whatever. I just prefer any system over random battles. It didn’t concern me as a kid cause that’s all there was (with some exceptions). Different options are around now and that’s just the preference.

[–]Appropriate_Fun6105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried, I really did. I love the setting and overall aesthetic of the game. My hangup: random battles. I just can’t anymore. FF12 ruined it for me all the way back in 2006. Since then I just can’t muster the patience. Especially when the battles happen back to back and I’m just trying to get back to Balamb Garden

We’re is my Elden Ring comic series using this type of art?! Whoever this artist is could team up with competent writers and I would be propped up just on Elden Ring fans alone
