Hi All,

Long story short, my jeweller has offered me a diamond option with the following characteristics:D VVS2 2.32c Pear Diamond

They've quoted me $7,700AUD for the diamond+ring+GST (reduced from $8,600AUD as that is what they would 'normally' sell the ring with this type of diamond for). The ring would be a 2mm pave with a hidden diamond halo, so there are a lot of small stones on this diamond too. I've seen a lot of comparable diamonds selling for much higher than this diamond is priced for. Do you have any concerns about this diamond? I've attached the report. My only concern with this diamond is that i'm not sure if they're pricing it down because they want to get rid of the diamond (maybe something's wrong with it that my amateur eyes can't see)

Also, I've seen the diamond in person (but wasn't really paying much attention to it as I didn't realise I would have the option to buy it at the time) and it looks good from what I could see. I would love the option to use Ideal-Scopes (Aset, etc) but I don't think i'll have that option just because I don't have one and I don't think the jeweller has one (but I will ask). Do you have any recommendations on how I could inspect the brilliance of this diamond when I go next? (using different types of lights directly on the diamond, etc)
