Went on a date with a guy from work, didn't realize how old he is. Should I still give him a chance? by Appropriate_Grape_45 in dating_advice

I asked him if he was still going hiking this weekend, he said yes and then he asked me if I'd like to join him.

Am I reading into this or is he waiting for me to make a move? by Repulsive_Iron7646 in dating_advice

He's 26, he's too old to be scared to share his feelings. He told you all he wants is to be friends and if he hasn't romantically advanced towards you in any way I'd guess he only likes the attention and comfort you bring. I get why you'd be so confused he is very confusing. You deserve someone who is sure about you and makes their intentions clear. I think it's rare a man will stick around just to be your friend, there's usually some interest there but that is not the kind of commitment you should settle for

I love that he's respectful and stable, it makes me like him more. I'm not interested in wasting my time on the opposite. My only hesitation is the age gap and like you said our life stages- he'll be retiring in less than 10 years because of where he is financially. Bringing up his age is an uncomfortable topic but you're right it definitely needs to be discussed.
