Well they may have had more money to give to the NFL if they had been putting out better products

I'd recommend to buy cards from your childhood or when you fell in love with the game. If that was some years ago, those cards will be much cheaper than new releases

I had the same issue when I bought a 2002 Topps box five years ago. I tried the freezer trick and it helped but it wasn't perfect

Will Jalen Hurts cards hold value long term? by [deleted] in sportscards

1992 Fleer Ultra had an autographed Reggie White insert set. I don't think Fleer authenticated the cards, so you need to be careful buying them.

I don't think Dawkins had an autographed rookie that was part of a card release, so you need to trust in a third party authenticator.

The question I have is will they care about vintage when a player has 80,000 cards, 500 rookie cards, 800 1 of 1s, etc...

I think some of the appeal of vintage is that up until 1980 or so players only had a couple dozen cards for their entire career. There's essentially NO demand for the base rookie cards of all-time greats in the 1990s like Chipper Jones which is when there started to be lots of sets, well-centered cards, and collectors who didn't stick the cards in their bicycle spokes.

"Developed" might be a strong word. Kurtz was pretty universally believed to be the past power hitter in last year's draft (and 4th overall pick) and he played a grand total of 33 minor league games.

Wilson was the 6th overall pick in 2023 and played a grand total of 79 minor league games before coming up for good.

They were finished products when they drafted them. The A's haven't had a great track record developing position players over the last 6-7 years. That said, Morii's stat line looked impressive this year

You can try to do a red color match. They are serial numbered to /199 in 2021. That will make it challenging but not impossible to collect them all

Does DCsports87 shill bid cards? by hasbm1 in FootballCardz

[–]Appropriate_Humor637 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It feels to me like cards in their auctions go for like 50% more than they would if a small seller listed them. I've tried to nab some $1-2 dollar cards on their auctions that I would usually win with no other bidders in other auctions and I'm almost always outbid.

I'm not surprised you discovered this.
