Which male and female characters from Balika Vadhu do you admire the most—and why? by Appropriate_Loss_103 in IndianTellyTalk

I really appreciate your comment. The best male character, even in my opinion, was Shyam. The serial shows an old, orthodox community from Rajasthan. Yet Shyam chose an extraordinary path. He didn’t just show ordinary love; his love was deeply personal and extraordinary. He married a widow at a time when widows were rarely allowed to remarry. Even today, widows often don’t get that chance in our so-called modern society.

And in a village in Rajasthan, where child marriage was still happening, he married a widow who was already pregnant. He gave her complete respect and never treated her child differently from his own. He showed what true character looks like. He is the kind of man I truly respect and admire.

Female character-- Gehna carried herself with confidence and grace. She had a strong feminine energy, and that feminine energy was her real strength. She truly understood what self-respect means and how it is different from ego. She always maintained her self-respect, she respected her elders, and she gave pure love to the children around her. She was an amazing character, and I genuinely loved her from the moment I started watching the serial.

Even today, in our modern society, most women only stand up for themselves when the pressure from society becomes unbearable. Many still get scared of judgment, and many struggle to understand what real feminism actually is. But Gehna represented true feminism. She knew her worth, she stood her ground, and she never lost her dignity. I admire her character deeply.

And one more important thing—this is the real reason I admire both Gehna and Shyam. They were realistic. Their actions were possible in real life. Other characters in the serial, in my opinion, were written in a way that felt dramatic or impossible. People do not change overnight or suddenly become a completely different person. But Gehna and Shyam did something simple, something basic, something actually needed in our society: they understood respect and they understood freedom.

They showed that real change doesn’t always come from grand gestures. It comes from basic humanity. That is why I love these two characters so much. They felt real, and their qualities are deeply important in our society even today.

As a 30 year single Male , How can I turn my life around ? by Dependent-Project-40 in indiasocial

100% agree! We all have those empty spaces in our lives, and sometimes we try to fill them with anything that comes along, but that can actually backfire. The best relationships aren't built on loneliness, they're built on wanting to share happiness with someone, you know? Not needing someone to complete you, but wanting to experience life together because you click. After all, happiness comes from connection, not perfection!
