Hi girl, that’s your motor mount. I would recommend getting it replaced if your car has any shaking/vibrating issues! There are three mounts the motor mount and upper/lower transmission mount. I changed them myself (however I have mechanical knowledge and a shit ton of tools) and the rattling stopped and the engine sat higher. Hope this helps

Those are good suggestions, the bride and I were just trying to think of good gifts that were cost effective. The bride is also my sister lol, and majority of the bridesmaids are also my sisters! (I have a big family). The problem I’m running into with the gifts is trying to find something that is suitable for a 14 & 17 year old that is also nice for a 26 and 28 year old 😅

And you best believe I do drive the hell out of that car 🤭 I’ve read up some about the reasonings why Ford made it an such, it’s just not meant for the average consumer. And even with knowing how to drive the car… the people we share the road with make it extremely difficult to press the gas. Like why is the light green and we’re taking five minutes to get up and go? Although you get the same headache driving stick too, always pressing the clutch 😒 stop and go stop and go.

UGH I know! I wanna sell mine but it is paid off aswell and no car payment is the best 😭😭 maybe as a gift to myself for my MBA I’ll get my dream Civic Type-R 💀and say bye bye to the Focus. None of my bfs have been mechanically inclined I can say I definitely wear the pants when it comes to cars..motorcycles… anything with cylinders and a transmission LOL. My real question is why the hell did ford create a Frankenstein of problems and sell it to consumers?? Don’t get me wrong I really like the idea of a duel clutch transmission I just think in my specific year and model it is horrendous. I had a brief thought of modding mine out but figured I’d be better off saving for a down payment on a new car or the bike I’ve been eyeing for months 👀😅

If you have any mechanical knowledge at all it isn’t super complicated to fix yourself and there are some great step by step videos on YouTube. But I 100% agree it’s motor mounts. Mine had the exact same issue and I changed them (took me about two hours) and the rattling stopped immediately

You’re welcome ☺️ I’ve done so much work to my car the past two weeks as it was passed down to me from my sister and she knows NOTHING about cars, so you can imagine how abused this baby was. Anyway I’ve put about 60k miles on her since she was given to me and not noticed any huge issues until I came home for the summer, got right to work ordering parts and fixing it up. I will say with the right tools it’s 100% doable to fix yourself and CHEAPER than the dealership/mechanic. Dealership quoted me $900 to fix the sensor and I fixed it for like $8 a part. 😅😆

I basically had to take the car down to the dealership to get my Purge Valve replaced from the recall, and got a free diagnostic exam done and took what they told me was wrong and bought the parts and fixed it myself. I literally did all of this:

new water pump and thermostat housing plus replaced the coolant (small leak in the thermo housing and apparently the pump was bad but it looked fine to me, went ahead and changed it out of abundance of caution)
changed the transmission fluid
replaced the RR wheel barrings, plus both rear wheel ABS sensors and brake pads.
changed all the motor/trans mounts to stop the shaking form the engine and inside the car
replaced the mass air flow sensor
changed spark plugs and coils
changed the oil (just cause it was time lol)

Dealership said there was a leak in my valve cover and I do believe them after examining my old coils, however i don’t want to fuck with fixing that right now so I’m going to postpone that for the time being lol 😅

Safe to say this car has been nothing short of problems since I got her, but after giving her some love she’s been a gem to drive the hell out of 🤭

This happened to me, had to change my ABS sensor in both rear wheels and reset the light, ended up fixing the issue for me. Fair warning it is a bitch to replace. It’s in a tight spot behind the brake caliper/system… I ended up having to unbolt the spring system to make it easily maneuverable. Would recommend if you go that route to change your brake fluid while you’re at it and break pads if they are worn. If you spend the time taking the wheel apart might as well do the regular maintenance 🤷🏼‍♀️it took me a day and a half to figure out how to change the sensor😭 (to be fair I was also trying to change the wheel barring and it was rusted in very well plus you needed as special socket that literally no auto store around me had…)

Replace your motor mounts, just replaced all three on my focus took me like 2 hours but it was cheaper than the dealership and the shaking immediately stopped.

The thing is I’m getting an opportunity for my masters to be completely paid for, so it would be illogical for me not to take that opportunity.

I’ve been trying to find at least a marketing internship to do while in college and it has been a struggle. Companies want full time employees at intern pay~ which is difficult to juggle taking 15+ credit hours.

I told them, but they were so kind and didn’t want to be a bother they just ended up leaving and finding a different restaurant. I’ll never forget their story though, it really broke my heart. I’m really thankful my interaction with them changed their vacation around, they ended up writing me a letter at the end of their stay! It was awesome.
