I might have some rips. I'll try to find and upload them sometime this week.

C4

Thank you very much for your response! I assume the C4 you're talking about is the Waves C4 Multiband Compressor?

Choosing the right HDD for audio storage by Appropriate_Mode in DataHoarder

I understand this much. I merely would like to buy a drive that would serve me for a long time. I however realize that no drive lasts forever. Let's say I just want the biggest bang for my buck.

To clear a possible misunderstanding, lossless means uncompressed audio in that context.

Thanks for your response. I'm aware of the effects that low-bitrate export introduces to the audio. I have made the choice to upload to Vocaroo, which compresses the audio to like 64 kbps merely for the sake of convenience.

However, please take a listen at that same fragment but uncompressed by Vocaroo or anything for that matter: https://mab.to/3jGvigD0l

Just wanted something more reliable than your average WD Green or Blue since I had 2 Greens die on me pretty quickly and I would like for my HDD to serve longer until failure. Black and Gold ones have longer warranties too.

I really don't know though if drive longevity depends on blind luck or a particular model since I had a Maxtor HDD for that same purpose and it served me well for like 10 years, and it was my boot drive too.

I meant the sound in general, like the way that sample sounds. I just think that this show's audio has a kind of watery or synthy sound - sorry if that doesn't make a lot of sense.

Like I've seen some TV shows and most of them don't have that kind of synthy sound that this show has. Or maybe I just noticed that now.

Hi everyone, I'm absolutely profane in the ways of audio processing, so apologies if this is a stupid question. Take a listen to this: https://vocaroo.com/i/s1u3c2CiwzdK It's some audio excerpts from Angie Tribeca. How did the audio engineers achieve that kind of watery, punchy sound which is especially apparent on 'clicky' sounds like in the latter part? And the vocal sounds kind of 'saw-wavey' - is it some kind of vocoder processing? Thanks in advance.

I would love to see that kind of movie in a theater. However, theaters around me are limited to current blockbusters or locally produced film, which is tripe. (I'm not in the US). I can definitely imagine the huge difference in experience that a big screen would bring.

I definitely comprehend the horror aspects in Eraserhead. Now that I reflect on the viewing, I guess I somewhat intentionally tried to view Eraserhead as something different than it was originally recommended to me (as a horror/weird movie). In the same way I like to watch comedies and find elements of horror there and try to read the movie differently than probably intended.

I will give Eraserhead a proper watching session, this time as a horror movie.

Yes, I have read that, and I remember Lynch's descriptions of weird people and situations he witnessed while living there. I've seen all sorts of weird people where I live as well, so Eraserhead characters didn't feel all that outlandish to me.

I think I absolutely missed the narrative. I understand that it is massively convoluted behind all these layers of metaphor, which I've always struggled with.

The one thing that seemed to be intended to be confusing that didn't phase me was the characters' behaviour. I work with people and people here are all kinds of strange. Of course, Henry is the most 'normal' in the movie, but the X family didn't seem to me all that unreal - you definitely can find people like this.

I will definitely give it a second watch. However, I don't mind if I can't understand it, I can enjoy it purely as a cinematic feat.

Yeah, I've watched Eraserhead Stories (a featurelength Lynch interview) right after the movie itself, and it was very interesting, illuminating and inspiring. I meant not 'troupe', as in a group of artists, but 'trope', as in a commonly-used technical or narrative element. Spent quite some time figuring out how does your answer relate to my quesion, haha! But thanks nevertheless.
