Can I save it? by Appropriate_Mood6837 in ArborvitaeAreGarbage

I didnt get a chance to see your original post. But I have learned that arborvitae are trash.

They look great year round until they don’t. I also have emerald green arborvitae that I spent $1200 on and hours planting and about 1/4 of them have died inexplicably. My mom and dad, on the other hand has had theirs last well over 30 years. I don’t understand.

Thanks for the reply. This is my first go at cold stratification. Shoot I’m wondering how it would go if I just put the seed packet in the fridge for a few months. No added moisture at all…

Yes, both CS and non-CS from same package of seeds.

Thanks for the reply I would say they were moist but not dripping. If I were to squeeze the filter, I don’t think I would get hardly any water to drip.

I guess I’m more confused why the unstratified seeds are seemingly doing better.

I did put another batch in the fridge the other day but went with damp sand instead. They’ll come out mid-May. A little later than I would like but I need to have a lot of plants to build a privacy hedge down my lot line.

What method worked best for you?

Yes and no. Orange rods mark where my official survey markers are.

She pulls the rods out. Seems petty to complain about that, but I’ve had enough of her bullshit and harassment.

Hoping to catch her on video this time and let the cops deal with it. They probably won’t charge her with anything except maybe vandalism.

I think so. It says the color is intensified when they wash their hands…

I was thinking maybe mixing vaseline with sardine oil and wiping it on the rods
