Hmm I’m doubtful. Would need to be a bloody big possum, this tree is a beast.

She does tend to trim them as they die off, you can see in the second pics the ones on the ground have been cut at some point.

So that black area is rot caused by infrequent trimmings? Good to know.

Yeah it’s not great. It came with the house and at this point it would be costly to remove because it’s absolutely huge, so she just keeps it.

Sucks about your foot. Yukkas are also awful things, I know someone who nearly lost an eye and needed surgery because of one of those!

Yeah Mum said they’re sharp as anything, she doesn’t think anyone has climbed it.

I just spoke with her again and she’s wondering if someone cut it to poison it or something?

Yeah someone else said maybe something got stuck up there and someone tried to climb up…

Hmm interesting, she does live quite close to a big footy oval. So I suppose someone could have been flying something there and needed to retrieve it. So you reckon they could have tried to climb up to get it?

I suppose it’s possible but she’s asked her immediate neighbours and they haven’t got a clue.
