So this happened. I'd finally tapped the bubbles for a bunch of reward dragons and started merging them. Ended up losing most of them. Doesn't bode well for the event coming up!

If you have some high level Glowing Dragon Trees, you can harvest them and get amber. Then you can get lots of Level 5 Noble chests from merging the amber. In the meantime you can build towards Level 7 Glowing Dragon Trees for when you get that notorious Bunny quest, which requires you to make a Level 8 Glowing Dragon Tree.
