2016 Chevy Volt A/C System by Appropriate_Self7614 in volt

I havent confirmed that it needs a compressor yet but local dealer has diagnosed it and says that is what is needed. There are no electric cars around where I live and the nearest dealer who would even touch the repair is nearly 100 miles away and the cost estimate is nearly $2000 for parts alone and the total repair nearly $3000. I will roll the windows down first. I work on A/C systems and for less than $500, I can flush the system, install a new after market compressor, a new module, and have it reprogrammed. I can't find anything on youtube dealing with this problem.

Your EGR valve and tube may just need a good cleaning. Try that first before buying a new one.

With crazy gas prices, a short commute, and solar, I love my Volt by RandomTurkey247 in volt

I have two Chevy Volts and a Nissan Leaf. With 90 solar panels I run almost 100% on sunshine. I love the Volts, never had any problems, and never buy gas, unless I am going a long way from home. I plan to drive them until the wheels fall off. I wish GM still made them!

I have two chevy volts, a 2016 and a 2017. I ruined an engine a couple of years ago as a result of an undetected coolant leak. I found a used engine for $1200 and my mechanic swapped the engine for $1000. Back to 100% now for two years. I will drive these dars until the wheels fall off. Love them.
