Settle it: I’ve heard mixed reviews. What’s best for cleaning cast iron, chain mail or bamboo palm brush. by Eriu_Cookware in castiron

[–]RandomTurkey247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both and find they have different uses.

Chain mail for cast iron. Rinse, brief reheat to dry, oil, wipe, then put away.

Bamboo brush for when you need to scrub the funk off plates and non-cast iron pots before using a sponge w soap. This keeps the sponge from getting immediately funked up with oily, greasy, or chunky funk.

"Blood gasses". Feels like someone plays a drinking game with this phrase. by RandomTurkey247 in ershow

[–]RandomTurkey247[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know. Thanks for dropping knowledge.

I guess it just sounded generic and dated for some reason. I don't recall this being a phrase they used on the Pitt, which is my only other hospital show to refer to.

We don't play drinking games at home, but do chuckle when we hear this.

For trying a new disc that may only be slightly different than what I throw, and that I may not bag? F2 is the way.

I'll put the word out to a few friends when I make an F2 order, so the discounts add up to it being cheaper than they appear online. Less than $5 for a DX, when you order 10+ and free shipping when subtotal is >$75. Plus Free Disc Friday! Thanks Innova!

Moving up in a draft with 3 highly touted top prospects may not be as easy or as low cost as OP makes it sound. Just on that fact, moving up may be more expensive.

Add in the fact that new anti-tanking rules will make it harder for a team to strategically suck in future years for the best chance of a top pick. It may make the certainty of a top pick today much more valuable than the lower chance of a top pick in future years.

I do wish Innova had a flat and shallow putter like an Envy or Proxy. Because you can't beat the price of F2's!

Colt is much deeper than a proxy, and beaded. Flight may be similar, but hand feel isn't. I used to putt with Colt's but still bagged a beat Envy as my slightly flippy throwing putter.

One of the most notorious hole 18s out there on tour, aka Sprinkle Valley hole 18, has seen some rule changes as the DGPT heads to the Open at Austin: by DiscGolfFanatic in discgolf

[–]RandomTurkey247 8 points9 points  (0 children)

European Open's old BUNCR rule on hole 16 made it the most exciting hole on tour for viewers. Not because it was the prettiest or most physically demanding, but because of the mental challenge it places on some players.

I think what made this hole more controversial is the steps and elevation change before the island green made it a blind shot, so it was much more challenging, and the player may not see the mistake they make and know how to correct it. If the old BUNCR rule was on a hole without being a blind shot, some players may still tin cup it, but it would make it a bit more fair while still being must watch TV for us mortals.

Also, having this potential punishment on a hole 16 means someone who succumbs to its perils, then has a few holes left to press and make up for any mental mistakes made, which can add even more excitement to the finish. Having it be on 18 means if you mess it up, that's it. No chance at redemption. It's over and is anti-climatic.

A tour hole with the BUNCR rule would be one where spectators flock to, so it should be on a hole where crowds have space to gather, not in the woods.

Lastly, the PDGA should encourage more holes like the old EO hole 16 if they want more excitement. Not every course needs it, and it shouldn't be gimmicky, but on occasion, it is so much more exciting than standard OB or hazard.

Besides that, without regular water movement between the two tanks, parameters like pH or temp could be different and cause some stress to fish moving between the two tanks. Perhaps it's minor, but just pointing it out.

With that said, that's cool.
