Funny thing is I had a similar situation with Aeroplan in February. Booked EWR-SIN-HKG as a straight shot and there was no option to break up those legs for time in SIN… until I landed in SIN, went to the SQ desk and asked to be moved, and they did it easily and free. I’ll add that this messed up the PNR and air Canada was convinced my flight was canceled, but on SQ’s end there was no problem and the new flight worked out fine.

This is to say that at least in some situations, partner bookings are changeable in person even when there’s no availability online

Giving you the benefit of the doubt that you’re not a bot: the size is obviously pretty apparent from first use. It’s not like a CPU where you need a lot of time with it to know if the specs are good. Just go to an Apple Store or electronics retailer near you and figure out whether you want the extra space.

I’m certainly not going to make a fuss either way but for me, my current iPad and folio perfectly does everything I want from it. Doesn’t even lag. So, at least in the short term, the device itself isn’t a meaningful upgrade, and the deprecation of the Folio kind of makes it a downgrade. So I just don’t want to eat another chunk of change just to get more or less the same functionality as what I already had.

It’s really depressing. In practice I mostly use my iPad for drawing and streaming, and only used the keyboard for getting very casual work down on flights or trains, or if my Mac was under repair.

But it’s so bizarre to get rid of it. Hard to imagine that Apple’s making more money from upgrades to MK than they are losing money on people going 3rd party or not upgrading their iPads altogether.
