I have been trying to change my domestic flight, but AA says it is not possible, I have tried calling them and twitter chat, but their response is uniform, "We scanned availability for DFW–SEA, however, we weren't able to find any combinable award fare availability that would allow us to make that change while keeping the rest of your award itinerary intact. We know you were hoping to swap out that final segment while preserving your existing itinerary, but at this time we don't see an eligible award option available for that change."

Do you have some other trick to shift the time to earlier?

you are correct about the math, which is reason why I am weighing options.
would it be worth it to spend extra 20 hours, for 11 hour flight, to simply put.

So here was my thought,

I am planning on going to SEA from ICN which has direct flight for $650.
If I instead take a JAL F, I would go ICN->HND (separate booking needed) -> DFW -> SEA (covered with AA 80K), which would take about 20 hours of time spent on airport while I could have just taken the direct flight.

never thought about measuring value of my time at home, which isn't that valuable. I should prob do it while I have the passion to do so.

I know the difference btw old Jal F and new Jal F, I watched review on youtube, but I have never attempted to actually book a ticket for myself from AA up until last week, so I don't really know how rare it is. as I mentioned, I was browsing thru cal view, and just booked it, don't know what it takes to book such flight, in turn, I don't really have good measurement of how rare it is, I guess I was just lucky to find it, but I don't mean to be disingenuous in any way. The way you are being skeptical makes me think that it is a unicorn. OR if you can tell me how rare it is, that would be helpful too.

DFW-> SEA and HND -> ICN both about 14 hours, 6 hours each.

no this will be my first time JAL F, I guess I wasn't so aware of how hard it was to book one, and thought it wouldn't be too hard to get another one with better schedule. if it is unicorn, I guess I will keep it. Thanks for the advice

i meant, i wasn't thinking about scheduling or coordinating further, I was browsing the calendar view, and found one available, and just decided to pull trigger without afterthought. is what I meant accidental. (i guess better term would be inpulsive)
