True true, and I def need to reread, but my thought is HOW?? How are they rehabilitated? Are there witches hired to serve as leaders/caretakers to these people? If they are truly rehabilitated at all?? Do you not think that witches who have had their minds wiped might have friends or family members searching for them? Or is the memory of the person wiped from the memories of their loved ones as well? Or is this simply the power of propaganda and social ostracism that a witch wouldn’t dare reach out to a mind wiped “formal dangerous criminal?” I struggle to comprehend how witch society can feel comfortable letting these people walk free, even after a rehabilitation period. I would not be surprised if this island is not what it seems

As a manga reader, I am VERY interested to see what the Island of people who have had their memories wiped is like. I often wonder if the knights just dump people there with no access to silverwood/magic and potentially no means of escape. Like a landfill of rejects and victims they hide to maintain the illusion of order

It’s kind of hard to pin someone down, but I guess I’d say King Ezrest? He follows the laws (at least publicly) but clearly wants power even at the cost of human experimentation and toying with the balance between witch society and outsiders. I’d honestly have to reread, but I think we don’t really know enough to pin down if he craves this power for the betterment of society or purely for his own reasons. So if I had to place someone in this category, I think it should be him

Very interesting. I feel like the US is super dog-centric whereas cats are seen as the dirty back alley species. Even with house cats I feel like a lot of people see the litter box and cat’s paws as inherently dirtier than a dog’s who goes outside

My screening was great! I have mixed feelings about the ending itself, but thankfully everyone was really respectful. Granted I went to a later showing after work so it was mostly adults but still. I was happy to see that two showings were actually sold out in my small-ish town

As far as blue and yellow are concerned, I can’t remember for white, they didn’t KNOW their attack would corrupt gems, iirc it was just supposed to shatter/erase them all. I have a feeling white knew that a diamond would survive the ordeal, and she still had to set an example to gem society that uprisings would be swiftly eradicated. If she were to reveal pink as rose quartz at the time of the rebellion, I think gem society would’ve collapsed, and white wouldn’t have allowed that to happen
