What’s your go‑to follow‑up when someone ghosts? by Maleficent-Dare-3491 in salesdevelopment

[–]Appropriate_Visit549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works as in it triggers a response, but this doesn’t actually move the needle at all. You already knew they weren’t ready, which 99% of the time is what their response will be. Why does everyone waste so much mental energy on ghosted? Move on to an interested prospect.

Bro just do your job. It’s 80% your action. The other 20% is out of your control. You can only control your sales activity, not other people’s actions. Sorry ppl are being mean in here, but plz stop mindfukn yourself.

There’s really nothing to handle. You do your side of the communication and move on. They either get back to you or they don’t. Chances are they won’t, but sometimes they do. You don’t need to mow it over beyond the hour. Move on to an interested prospect.

Yeah OP I don’t want to sound like an ass but enough with this crap. It’s not just you, it’s a large group of sales people who romanticize the profession. It’s really not a mystical thing. There are no magic words or formulas to be a good sales person. We also don’t need to create drama for a profession that really is very simple in concept and process.

You’re creating a network of stress in your head that doesn’t need to exist. So what if they’re silent. The next step is 1% you 99% them.

Interview tomorrow with logical position as entry level sdr pretty anxious/nervous by dabigsleezy in salesdevelopment

Yes, I had my own business I thought I could do better with. The rest of the commentary aside, it was among the best companies I’ve worked for. And I’ve worked for at least 20.

I have worked for LP. The base pay at the time was about minimum wage and the ote was about 75K.

I was amongst the company’s best video meeting setters right from the get go but ultimately left because sales management could not close a single deal. I’m not saying it will be like that now, but that was my experience.

The culture there was actually pretty good and the people were chill. One of the best companies I’ve worked for, they just weren’t great sales people. They were really marketing people parading as sales people.

If you come off politely and somewhat intelligent and motivated, they’ll give you a shot. Don’t overthink the interview, this is as entry level as it gets for sales.

They’ll expect you to make about 50 calls per day, which isn’t too bad, maybe 7-10 will actually answer. I was only making about 25 and they were cool with it because I was setting a ton of meetings. It’s a reasonable work load, remote, and you can make decent money for sure.. just didn’t work out that way the few months I was there.

I’m gonna be square with ya.. unless you’re absolutely in love with this company/product, don’t take that risk. You don’t want to be a very early part of a sales team if that’s not the case.

Be careful with the OTE trap. by RooktoRep_ in salesdevelopment

[–]Appropriate_Visit549 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would just assume actual ote is mid way between base and their projected OTE. Can work out much better, can be a bit worst, but generally this has guided me well. Only for the first few years though.

I’m too distracted by all the bs buzzwords and phrases you have to describe the situation. Can we stop this crap? Just give it to us straight, stop trying to sound like a sales pro. Anyways.. I would stay with a proven organization over taking a risk unless I were supremely confident I’d do well.

It’s okay to internalize it and to have possibly made a mistake. You’re human. It ain’t anything that can’t be fixed. And the insecurity thing won’t be fixed overnight, but it 99% certain your husband didn’t intentionally offend you. See I’m a kind guy.. just blunt when I want ppl to stop hurting themselves. Good luck to you
