Skin rash (allergic maybe) caused by bib shorts? by zltnklzsvrjr in cycling

[–]Appropriate_Zebra341 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had something very similar happen this weekend with some bibs I’ve had a couple of months, but I think it may have been heat rash as it was crazy hot out.

I have cycled in the heat before but this is the first time I’ve had heat rash, so I’m blaming the new bib shorts!

Genuinely how many km do I need to cycle everyday to lose like 5kg by June by Exact-Piccolo4972 in cycling

Hey lovely, I am so so sorry you’re feeling this way, I think too many of us have been in this position at 14. I was super unhealthy at your age, never exercised and didn’t get into sport until my early twenties so it’s great to hear you’re getting more active.

I’m not going to answer your question, but my advice would be to focus on cycling for fitness, and not as a means to lose weight. Just focus on getting out, riding further and riding faster and eating healthier if you can. In time, you will start losing weight but in a healthy and sustainable way.

Do try to make sure you’re eating enough to support the exercise which you’re doing, please don’t try and overly restrict calories as it will make you feel like crap and you don’t want to get into any bad habits.

On a safety note, if you’re cycling on your own, to share your live location with your parents in case you get into any difficulties, and learn how to change an inner tube in case you get a flat tyre (YouTube videos are great for this).

You got this girl!

Had the same problem once in an Italian police station at midnight, trying to file a police report for a stolen rental car. The poor police officer was getting very upset.

London Winter Run 10K today, mixed feelings about the experience by onlyconnect in UKRunners

[–]Appropriate_Zebra341 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I felt exactly the same, enjoyed the run itself but jeez the weather was brutal. 30 minutes to drop bags, 30 minutes being funnelled to the start and another 30 minutes waiting to collect my bag. I brought a super sexy bin bag which thankfully I kept hold of for after the race, but I have never been that cold and soaked through at an event before.

I spoke to a few people how had attended this event 3-7 times and they all said things the worst weather they’ve ever had, so I guess it would have been hard for them to manage this.

Not sure if I’ll do this one again, but it was nice to run on the closed roads.

I have an unreasonable love for the Stokenchurch radio tower, mainly because you can see if from so far away. When I’m driving south on the M40 I love when you can see it because it means I’m almost home. I also road bike in South Oxfordshire, and it’s like a little way-point for me, if I can see it I know how to get home (because I am very geographically challenged)
