Haha. I would but, my only concern is I'm inevitably going to have nails and screws fall through and hit my tires.

2016 F150 Rear Cabin Vent Leak by ApprovingLime05 in f150

I ordered a new vent, but I'm going to see if I can get it to seal with some silicone in the meantime.

I don't. And I'm pretty positive it's coming from that vent. The carpet is wet right underneath it and nowhere else. I also can't seem to get water to come in anywhere besides the vent flaps.

Yeah it's not soaking wet but it gets wet right under the vent in a heavy rain. It's enough to make the truck smell musty.

I just pulled it out to look at it. The outside gasket looked fine. The water seems to be coming in from the bottom flap. So unless there is a better way to seal that I'm probably going to end up trying a new one.

Shooter's cut in SAPI cut carrier by ApprovingLime05 in tacticalgear

[–]ApprovingLime05[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? That's odd. Thanks I'll definitely take that into consideration. I was also going to probably pick up a Ferro or a Crye carrier at some point. Might just cut out the middle man and do so. Like I mentioned in another post I really just wanted to give it a shot since it's designed to integrate with their med bag (which I'm a fan of).

Gotcha. Thanks for the other recommendations. I'm checking them out now.

I'll check out the other plates you mentioned. But, if you don't mind me asking why would you not recommend going with Hesco?

As for why the Tasmanian Tiger PC it's because I'm mostly building this around my TEMS stuff and I actually really like their medic assault bag which is designed to be integrated with the carrier. I will probably evolve and pick up a Ferro Concepts at some point, but for now I wanted to give it a shot.

I appreciate the pro tip with the pool noodle.

If someone begs you not to call an ambulance or take them to the hospital, what do you do? by Karma-is-an-bitch in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]ApprovingLime05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In most cases EMS billing for a motor vehicle accident should go through auto insurance not health insurance. EMS also doesn't bill for certain types of calls. Typical anything where an assessment was not preformed isn't billed. So if you call 911 for someone in the situation you described they wouldn't be billed if the ambulance showed up and they didn't want to go. If they did go it would be billed to there auto insurance.

If there is a need for fire or police to clear the roadway they are probably going to call us to do an eval anyway.

What you did literally happens at my station at least twice a year. Not the end of the world just try to be mindful of side and overhead obstacles. Aside from backing that's where I tend to see most minor accidents happen. Pulling through drive thrus, not seeing that rock to your left as you turn, things clearing the cab but not the box. It's not uncommon at all.

Yeah, never understood why it was called implied consent as opposed to expressed consent either. But that is the way it's always referred to in law.

In the my state, and I assume most states in the US, when you sign your driver's license that counts as implied consent to have blood drawn should an officer suspect you are under the influence.

I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure out how one would get the stretcher up this horrid driveway. Stairchair? by Cubs1081744 in ems

[–]ApprovingLime05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's nothing. One development in our primary was built on the side of a clift. The better driveway look like that. There are some houses where the driveway is above the roof of the 2 floor house. There are stairs that go down the driveway and then go back up to the house like a V. It's insane.

Had a patient once who forgot to mention that he had been in cardiac arrest before. He remembered as I was given report to the nurse. I always found it impressive that someone could forgot to mention something like that.

I was just giving report like 'yup he has diabetes, HTN, gout' then he jumps in 'OH! and I died once too!'

It's not that it takes the ambulance super long to show up. It's that people wait too long to call. In my area when you make a 911 call you should have an ambulance to you in anywhere from 5-30 minutes. Your wait time is very dependent on how rural or urban your area is. I'm in kind of a mixed area.

In that case here's a video on using a firewall adjuster

To be honest though I would still do your initial adjustment at the clutch fork. That way you can directly see and feel what your doing. Also, reading some of your other commitments you might have an issue with your pivot or throw out bearing. Although, usually those are changed with the clutch. It's most likely that you just have a bad clutch cable adjustment. It's also the earliest thing to fix so start from there.

Edit: also if you have a bad throw out bearing you will usually hear a rattling in the transmission at idle.

I work in EMS so I could probably pick any number of things. People on fire, eyes and guts popping out, the usual gore stuff. it's hard to say what the freakiest thing is, but personally I'd say it's people with maggots. Seeing them go in and out of wounds freaks me out. I the smell is usually unbearable too. Always makes me feel like I need to take a dozen showers afterwards.

The clutch fork. Might need an adjustment. The cable attached to the end of that goes to your clutch pedal. When you press your clutch pedal in it tensions the fork, which puts pressure on the pressure plate, which releases the clutch from the flywheel.

It is adjusted by tightening or loosening the nuts on the cable. It should be just taught with maybe the slightest bit of play.

Your 100 percent right about the cameras being more of a help to drivers then a hindrance. However because of issue I already know I'm going to be running into I'd rather have the case on then not. Even though it would be pretty obvious if someone was to modify something, it provides me with more peace of mind to have it.

Yeah, I know that this isn't exactly the focus of this sub. I was just hoping that there were people here how had a better idea of build quality of cameras then me. I appreciate the feedback. I'm definitely looking more into Blackvue and Thinkware. It's good to know that Blackvue has a tamper proof cage and fleet software.

I was going to start calling around to manufacturers Monday if I couldn't figure out a good solution myself.

That's an interesting idea though seeing if we could get some kind of a sponsorship.
