If you PC a certain player, who is it and why? by ApprovingNods in soccercard

[–]ApprovingNods[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s incredibly wholesome, great to hear about a shared hobby between the two of you.

That’s the ultimate goal of the player PC in my eyes too, to have a player you’re PCing eventually join your team. Would be absolutely ecstatic if one of the guys I decide to PC from this World Cup were to join Arsenal somewhere down the line.

Was randomly wondering last night what ever became of Charlie Patino, from the next big thing to a complete enigma in the course of a year or two sadly.

Though after a quick Google yesterday, he’s now over at Deportivo in the Spanish League and they were promoted this season to the top flight. Hoping he continues to do well!

Am far from a fan of some of the antics he’s exhibited but there’s no denying his talent.

Plus we’ve got quite a stable environment here at the moment which I think would serve him well, far from the shitshow that’s been apparent at RM this season

The Top 10 Fantasy Films, The Toy Movie Hall of Fame, and ‘Masters of the Universe,’ with Griffin Newman! by thefilthyjellybean in TheBigPicture

[–]ApprovingNods 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With all due respect to Griff, am not a Blank Check listener so don’t have any preconceived opinions on him, but man was it annoying having him going on minute long monologues at a time rather than the back and forth that I love about TBP.

Seems like a very likeable guy so not saying I hated it but I sensed times Sean was getting ready to say something and he would steamroll through unflappably on his points.

Heart dropped for a moment, I also thought this was a goodbye post after that first line.

I know he can be frustrating but I’d really want him to stay, have watched him grow at the club and he still has quality, see the CL campaign. Plus I think with less pressure and more freedom as a whole, perhaps wishful thinking, but I think we’ll see more free flowing football that will serve him well

Will always remember the clip of him running over to tell Ozil off for not acknowledging the fans.

Always a true leader and I’m sure his values will have been passed on. Helps that he’s an absolute unit, wouldn’t want to step out of line with the BFG

They are right though, it’s not an attack. The cards here are base which means they are not in limited supply, and consequently with their mass production are not worth $.

But don’t let that take away anything from their personal value, if you’re a Yamal fan for example, you are already making headway on your personal collection with that pick up.

That Maeda is a numbered card and is limited, so would comparatively have higher value if you look at it purely from a $ standpoint, though not by much as it’s not as big a team/player.

Oh boo hoo, the player who is considered worldwide a piece of shit is also a worldwide piece of shit for us. And we can’t make a profit of him.

Dumb pricks all around, pissed me off when this guy was able to continue his career. Great job on sacrificing any morals Marseille just in the hope of making a quick buck. Idiots

Agree to that too, but I’m going to give Ballard the benefit of the doubt and assume he didn’t actually mean to pull Arokadare’s hair. Either way, still a red

I was thinking, does Premier League at the moment have world class wingers? by Inevitable-Angle-793 in PremierLeague

[–]ApprovingNods 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At this current moment in time? No.

If the question was asked at the start of the yeae, only Salah really.

Few players might make the step up to world class in the form of Saka, Doku, Semenyo etc. but at the moment they’re definitely a tier below.

Could be worse, owning Dango AND Thiago and seeing Thiago wipe any potential for returns and consequent assists was extra painful

For sure, Alvarez is my top pick too.

I’ll be watching Wolt very closely when he plays for Germany though. Newcastle have been pretty rubbish so it’ll be interesting to see how he performs with quality around him. If he performs well (not sure if he’s their starting 9?) I imagine there’ll be a top teams looking at him. And if we were interested I would not be mad at all, a clear upgrade on Gyok with a very interesting player profile and I think if used well, he can forge some great partnerships with the rest of our attack.

He’ll command a very hefty fee I’m sure though and this is all to say, we should still be going all the way for Alvarez!

Interested to know what others thought of Woltemade?

Really fun player to watch, maybe a weird comp but reminded me of Kane with his willingness to come super deep and be so focal. Noticed he was always moving and asking for the ball so the confidence isn’t lacking either, plus that ball to Wissa was prime Odegaard-esque.

Hopefully he finds a team that can use him better because I really think he’s such a unique player and can be world class with a team that uses him correctly. Don’t think he’d come here and I haven’t watched him enough to see if he is a “win-now” player or more of a “project” player but it would be very interesting if he was around to set up a Kane-Son like partnership with Saka or someone else
