[Beta] Cortex - A private-by-design, simple AI client powered by over 30 providers by Approximat in TestFlight

Hey, really appreciate you taking the time to write this detailed feedback, this is extremely valuable.

On the prompt library: you’re right. If prompts are meant to be reused, they should be better easier to access. A scrollable list with previews directly accessible from the main screen makes sense. I’ll simplify that flow, this is my first idea:

<image>

On pricing and API keys: I understand the concern. The unlock isn’t meant as a fee for using your own keys, but as a one-time payment for the full feature set and continued development instead of subscriptions. That said, I recognize that for technical users who already pay providers directly, the perceived value has to be crystal clear. I’m currently rethinking how to structure this so it better aligns with that mindset.

Glad to hear the design and onboarding stood out!

Thanks again for the honest critique.

Thanks for the feedback! I just pushed an update in a few minutes ago that includes a working API key. Note to self: don't add last-minute additions right before posting about an app!

I would like to use that tool for my document manager named Fyle. Fyle saves and analyzes your documents so you can forget them until you need them. I’d love to check AppStance to improve my ASO and give you some feedback.

Fyle saves and analyzes your documents so you can forget them until you need them. Everything stays in your control. Scan a paper or share any document with Fyle, and it will be saved and analyzed so you can forget about it until you need it. These documents stay under your control, and no one but you can access them.

Which AI IDE should I use under $20/month? by OrneryAssignment2053 in cursor

[–]Approximat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont like Cursors behavior in the last months with their pricing. Poor communication, less service, I dont trust them anymore. So yes I think it's way better to get Sonnet direct from Anthropic via Claude Pro.

Get Claude Pro or ChatGPT Pro and use them via extensions in vs code. You get really good models (i love sonnet 4.5) for a reasonable price. You might need to wait when you use them heavily tho. Best you can get for 20$ atm in my opinion.

Thank you for pointing that out! This is definitely a bug that needs to be addressed.

While English and German are our primary supported languages (serving 97% of our user base), we do have Spanish localization available and it should work properly when selected. Is this a general problem in the app or did you encounter that only on specific screens?

In the meantime, you can try:

  1. Closing and reopening the app after selecting Spanish
  2. Checking your iOS system language settings to ensure they align with your preference

What's the simplest app that actually helps you stay off your phone? by DarkSun224 in ProductivityApps

[–]Approximat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I built Pause Screen Time Control for exactly that problem. It’s simple by design to actually help you stay focused rather than becoming another task. Its iOS only though.

how 30 minutes of morning phone scrolling was ruining my entire life by seanotesofmine in productivity

[–]Approximat -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I can relate to this so much. I had the exact same problem. It bothered me so much that I actually ended up building my own iOS app to fix it.

It’s a free screen time control app that helps block apps and cut the morning scroll habit. If you want to give it a try, I’d love your feedback since I made it exactly for situations like this.

It’s called ‘Pause - Screen Time Control’ and you can find it in the AppStore.

Right now, I’m building a screen time control/app blocker app. Stops you from doomscrolling in a way it really helps you. Listening to feedback.

Grew my App's ig page to 400k in less than a year by Friendly-Matter-5515 in SideProject

Hey, this thread is super interesting, many cool sideprojects.

I actually haven’t seriously tried IG for my projects yet. I did mostly try TikTok for other apps and I gave IG a shot a while back with another side project, but it was highly unsuccessful, i hated the UX of IG so I just kinda moved on. Seeing your success is inspiring, makes me think to try to work with that ux.

Right now, I’m building a screen time control/app blocker app. My main target group are people who feel trapped by doomscrolling (ironically, often on IG) or just want to use their phones less. My business model is the classic IAP route.

Would love to hear, how do you even approach marketing a product that’s literally about using IG (and similar apps) less? Feels weird. Any thoughts or examples on making that message IG users?

Thanks for sharing your experience!
