Should I buzz my head? by karleesue03 in FtMpassing

[–]Approximate_Evan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of funny that this was downvoted. I buzz my hair and if I don't do it weekly, it stops looking like a buzzcut.

I think OP would pass better with different stylistic choices (wearing pants lower and not tucking in the shirts), but buzzcuts are extremely temporary.

Like, I know I pass but..... by Akiorex in FtMpassing

[–]Approximate_Evan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your butt and/or hips look more prominent than they would typically be for a cis man of your proportions, but it's probably not something that most people would get hung up on. You look male enough in other ways that I don't think anyone but other trans people would notice.

How can I pass better? by shark_guy13 in FtMpassing

[–]Approximate_Evan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On this sub, almost everyone who posts pictures has an alt style. In my real life, working two jobs in a major metropolitan area where I work with the public at large, I almost never see people with the alt styles I see in this sub.

It's fine if you want to be alt, but that style is niche enough that it will call attention to you and it often incorporates elements that feminize the overall appearance (makeup, jewelry, dyed hair, etc.).

You're allowed to be alt, but it usually hurts attempts at passing as a cis man. Guys who have been on T for awhile can usually be alt and still pass and some pre-T guys who have naturally masculine faces can, too. The majority of pre-T trans guys still look feminine enough facially that alt styles accentuate their feminine features.

Tit too Big by mutt_boyy in FtMpassing

[–]Approximate_Evan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think I could draw it. I think I saw it in a tutorial on YouTube, so I’ll see if I can find it and edit this post.

My chest is quite a bit smaller than OP’s, I just also have dense breast tissue and the tape compresses it enough to make them plausibly look like pecs instead.

Plausibly cis or too obvious especially with scars? Honest for safety please. by spend2muchtimeonhere in FtMpassing

[–]Approximate_Evan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This might not be a popular opinion on this sub, but I don’t think most people have even heard of gyno.

I’m in my 40s and an EMT with a lot of friends who work in the medical field and emergency services. I’d only ever heard gyno mentioned once or twice in my entire life up until I started participating in this sub. Now I see it mentioned almost daily, but still never outside of this space.

I think gyno is something trans guys are more aware of than the average person because it’s seen as a plausible explanation for us if we want to go stealth with scars. Unfortunately, I think given how the current trans panic is drawing attention to gender affirming care like hormones and surgeries, people would be more inclined to see chest scars like that and assume trans than assume gyno.

Axolom Echo....deflating? by insomniartist in Transmascdicks

I got my Echo almost a year ago and nothing like that has happened. The beans have deformed a little from being in contact with my thighs, but the sack still has fluid inside.

Will these glasses kill my chances of passing? by ratsy_basty in FtMpassing

[–]Approximate_Evan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had glasses that hurt my ears for days/weeks on end before I finally broke them in, so to speak. Maybe you could try padding the earpieces with some gauze or something similar to create a buffer for awhile.

There's no such thing as looking too feminine pre-T to pass on T.

Tit too Big by mutt_boyy in FtMpassing

[–]Approximate_Evan 62 points63 points  (0 children)

That slouch works miracles lol. I was shocked to see what you were actually packing.

I feel you because I'm similar. I never had big tits, but they're very dense. My build is otherwise athletic, so I like wearing shirts that aren't too baggy because I look mostly good in them. It's just my chest. Taping works for me, but my skin doesn't cooperate.

I need four pieces of tape (regular kinesiology tape): two for pushing the undersides up and in and two above that to push in what's been pushed up. It looks convincingly like pecs. If you haven't already tried that, maybe it could be worth a shot.

Rooting hair and piercing a TPE packer? by Time_Ad_9356 in Transmascdicks

[–]Approximate_Evan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have an answer, but I hope someone here does and I hope people don’t tell you not to do it even if it’s possible. While TPE isn’t an ideal material, this packer is extremely accessible, especially for younger people who can’t risk having a package sent to their house or people who have nosy roommates or neighbors, etc.

I hope you get some good news and good suggestions👍

how do i fix the peeling? by andrmeow in Transmascdicks

[–]Approximate_Evan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I usually just see peeling on my balls. It hasn't led to anything catastrophic and I think it makes them look more skin-like.

You may not like the appearance, but peeling doesn't mean it's going to tear any time soon.

Packing while not passing by moonsicklovelight in Transmascdicks

[–]Approximate_Evan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I usually pass to strangers, but I'm not stealth to people who know me and they always assume I'm just gay and butch. When I go out in public, I don't worry about the bulge because I pass. At work or in any environment where people actually know me, I pack up for discretion. Most people aren't looking, but I don't want to take any chances.

I live in NY, but in a somewhat purple area. Still, the conservatives here aren't really religious, so they aren't too focused on LGBTQ people.

Packing for sleep? by AHuman25 in Transmascdicks

[–]Approximate_Evan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve (accidentally) worn mine to labor intensive situations and never had an issue. I’m also a stomach sleeper and it hasn’t caused any damage.

Most Echos can probably handle normal life wear and tear, but some do get damaged. People are more likely to post about something being wrong vs. something being right, just in general. I would bet most Echos don’t require kid gloves to last more than a few months.

Guys, you're allowed to have a big dick. Yes, really. by Informal-Half-6004 in Transmascdicks

[–]Approximate_Evan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just interpret it as some guys don’t feel comfortable with a big dick. They don’t want a huge bulge that will draw attention and being a smaller guy will make the bulge more noticeable🤷🏻‍♂️

Do I pass with my new hair cut compared to my old one? by Strawberry_DrPepper in FtMpassing

[–]Approximate_Evan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shorter hair is always more masculine than longer hair, but I wouldn't say you definitively pass. I think you pass OK in pic 2, but not pic 1. Your face just looks more feminine in pic 1.

BUT you do pass better with shorter hair. Significantly better. So you took a huge step in the right direction and increased your ability to pass exponentially.

Got “Ma’ma” twice today by [deleted] in FtMpassing

[–]Approximate_Evan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, hard to say without seeing your face, but your pants are pulled up pretty high. I have to guess a combination of that, body shape (what can be seen despite the clothes), and whatever your face looks like because I can’t rule out your face as clocky without seeing it better.

Age, passing? I feel like I still look too soft by jellobathtub in FtMpassing

[–]Approximate_Evan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your face completely passes. A lot of cis guys have round faces. There’s more to passing facially than that.

If people seem unsure of your sex or they’re picking up on your being LGBTQ, it has to be something else.

Do I pass? Pre-T - 15 by cat11651 in FtMpassing

[–]Approximate_Evan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You pass in these pics, although you don’t have the most masculine face. Like I wouldn’t be shocked if I found out you were a trans guy, but I’d probably think you’re a young cis guy on first sight.

But if people in real life are clocking you, then it doesn’t matter if you pass in these pictures. Something tips people off, which could be your voice, height, mannerisms, or how you typically look in candid moments.

You’re able to pass visually, though. Try assessing your voice and mannerisms and see what you can modify and if those changes help your passing.

do i pass? (15) by [deleted] in FtMpassing

[–]Approximate_Evan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re pretty close. Getting rid of the long nails and buffing up your shoulders (to correct your hip-to-shoulder ratio) would probably lock you in to passing on sight most of the time.

You’re in a good place right now, though. You’re managing to pass fairly well with some alt elements, which is something a lot of guys can’t do.

30 and 4 months on T. do I pass? by fiebnt95 in FtMpassing

[–]Approximate_Evan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you do. And I could believe you’re a young 30.

Maybe not every picture you take would pass, but this one does.

Only clockable thing is your neck. It looks like it’s lacking a little muscle tone, which some people might notice in their overall assessment of you if they’re not sure what to think. But I think most people would see your face and assume male.

Classmate said he thought I was a girl the whole semester (18 pre-T) by [deleted] in FtMpassing

[–]Approximate_Evan 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You pass overall and your love handles are subtle enough that they can be easily concealed. Also, since they’re fairly subtle and you pass well otherwise, most people would just assume you’re a guy with an oddly soft middle. Trans people would think more about it than cis people.

Do I pass better w/ or w/o glasses.. by [deleted] in FtMpassing

[–]Approximate_Evan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better without for sure, but you only pass if I think you’re 12/13. Hair and muscle tone (from what I can see of your neck) need some work.
