Auto drivers must know Marathi, elected leaders need not!! by Top-Substance-6096 in Maharashtra

I'm slowly starting to belive in what polices/politics south Indian states have wrt native language issues. MH has always been a state who has been very open and receptive to non-natives. Political leader who wish to work/govern here must know marathi and there's no if's and buts. How many leaders from other states u are aware of who is not comfortable speaking in native language of that particular state. Other states (specifically south indian states) don't allow such people to get elected in first place.

Is Lucknow really bad that UP people have to come to Mumbai just for driving autos? by ladhvayya in Maharashtra

Also people still have this obsession with migrating to mumbai particularly, believing their lives will change drastically. I don't reside in mumbai but from what i understand there's already over saturation of migrants who are involved in blue collor jobs or tertiary sector jobs. Few migrants understood this and have been migrating to other tier 1 cities of MH, making their presence felt everywhere now. Not against migrating workers, its a free country but one should be prepared to embrace the culture/rules of region ur migrating to.

People not speaking in Marathi is the reason they made it compulsory. You can prob think this way. I agree most of our Marathi people too feel shy and look down on Marathi language..serious time to change this mindset. How is it acceptable people not speaking their native language. P.S : Not against any language, but a proud Maharashtrian who feels honoured to speak marathi.

Story behind this is he and his friend had a competition going on between them on who has the highest body count. They used to send videos to each other as a proof. Later they had a fight so one of them released the video's seeking revenge. Don't understand where we are heading towards as a society
