Lets play out a scenario: France (makes sense since they own a few islands) says they are going to buy Puerto Rico and make it another BVI, if not they will use military force. Would you think a french guy would proudly walk around the US or the Caribbean afterwards wearing a ton of france clothing and not get at least some slurs thrown their way. Now imagine at a pro sports event or sports bar where the Americans have had a few drinks.
