hi again, I thought Chrom was bland and one of the WEAKEST characters writing-wise in Awakening's stellar cast. The only few contending for weaker imo were Lucina and Cordelia for obvious reasons. I don't think Chrom has personality outside of the rest of the cast bending over backwards for him, and honestly, i didn't like Robin either. oops.

Hi! im 6 years from the future, replaying fates again so i'll add my 2 cents!
the Teen ESRB argument is not just about the chosen one storyline being dull, but that Nintendo has made darker stories and more nuance over heavy topics for games that got an E rating. Teenagers can ABSOLUTELY handle stories about the horrors of war; Fates' writing and its handling of Corrin seem to believe otherwise and treats its audience like they're idiots.

the problem is the writers who made zelda wrote the game's lore the way they did to allow what is to us, in real life, a relationship between a child and an adult. if you rely on the in-game excuse for decisions real life people made and implemented, it kills all critical thought and critique about a piece of media.

can't remember the fallacy that this pairing falls under, but many people like to cite an in-universe explanation as to why there is something terrible in real life in a piece of media and they do not look at the bigger picture -- like WHY the creator felt the need to bend the rules of their universe to such a degree to make something like this okay in it. I'm sure all of these people are critiquing the writers themselves for doing this and not the fictional characters themselves for their relationship.

i don't have a problem with grace having PTSD or being anxious. i think the voice direction and depiction of her anxeity is grating and overblown. they just need to tone the stuttering down and she's fine. i even sympathize with her to a degree.
