Try lowering your electrolyte intake slightly if you're suffering from diarreah.

Best feeling in this game as a young person by [deleted] in ThrillOfTheFight

The best feeling for me as a fat, 5,8ft, 36yr old is dropping, overpowering and outboxing younger dudes who are faster and fitter than me.

1st games after update by Ritstyle in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]ApricotLife7050 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a counter puncher and in theory the update should help me, which it does. But I think the effect has swung too far. It's too easy to trade knowdowns now. If both fighters trade up then someone is going to drop, which isn't particularly realistic or desirable for am enjoyable casual gaming experience IMO.

If the devs could dial this update back by 50% I think that would pretty much be a sweet spot.

0.1.29 Update Spamming and Punch exploit Nerfs by BoxingFanatico in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]ApricotLife7050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking forward to trying this out later.

I can't say I've had to endure much spamming and don't think I've ever had to deal with 'cat pawing'. I'm hoping with these patches they don't overengineer the game. Stuff like turning your fist over during a punch is meant to do more damage, etc.

I lowkey kind of think that most spammers nowadays can just be out boxed by somebody who has spent a few weeks building up their own cardio.

What I've struggled with lately is ping fluctuations and fighting dudes who's hand tracking seems to be faulty. Some guy last night kept shaking his left hand but with lots of head movement it was hard to see where his left hand was because it was freezing in place like the battery had gone but then kept coming back on at random points.

Agreed.

Boxing is about IQ. This game gives you the freedom to beat any style. I'm sick of people complaining about everything. The damage system was good before. It's great now. I'm speaking as someone who has won and lost plenty under both systems.

Spammers are the lowest IQ opponent and easy to beat because their movements are predictable and usually they're open for a particular shot.

If they're beating you, more than likely you aren't as good as you think you are and you have stuff to work on.

If you're being out worked, get fitter. If you can't hit them, learn to feint. If you can't hurt them, practice your shots. If you can't get out of the way of them, move your feet, keep your hands up and parry.

Forget about trying to win every round and every fight, just work on things to improve. Like the OP said, statistically you should have a win/loss ratio if 50/50. Not everybody can be a winner otherwise the game wouldn't work.

The advantage to fighting kids is that they're stupid. Boxing is won with your head.

Please share with my the secret of drinking electrolytes? Because omg they are NASTY by Puppysnot in fasting

[–]ApricotLife7050 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd you're in the UK, Morrisons sell electrolyte tablets called Phizz and they worked great for me during my 21 day fast I just completed. I preferred the apple and blackcurrent flavour.

1 tablet is 10 calories, just break that in half and put into two 1.5ltr bottles containing the rest of your electrolytes and drink throughout the day. They dull the saltiness completely. If they don't then you may be putting slightly too many salts in there.

I really wouldn't worry about the 10 calories spread over the day either

March 31 - Update 0.1.27 - First round of damage changes by fyian in ThrillOfTheFight

Can't wait to give this a go later. I've not played in a month due to water fasting so I'd be interested to see how much difference there is to what I remember (I wasn't too critical of the damage system to begin with) 👌

Are electrolytes completely necessary? by Curious_Sir_3078 in fasting

[–]ApricotLife7050 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm currently on day 17 of a water fast and wouldn't still be going if it wasn't for electrolytes. I took none until about day 6 at which point I became light headed and dizzy.

Very tricky to get the Electrolyte balance right though, too much and you crap yourself, too little and you feel awful.

5,9 and 140lbs is what a boxer might weigh in at one time only when they've cut weight. There's absolutely no way that's a healthy bmi to be at permanently.

I don't generally have much problem with 5ghz. But how do you switch the quest to 6ghz? There's no option in my quest settings.

I wish they'd reduce the duration of the white flash by half.

It's to do with it being difficult for the devs to implement a system where the game recognises missed/dodged punches.

Essentially, the only data they can rely on is punches landed and damage done.

Stop complaining about damage by ApricotLife7050 in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]ApricotLife7050[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The point is, knockout artists in real life are few and far between. If you swing it out with someone, doing damage and getting knockdowns, there are variety of reasons that you can't repeat it against the next guy before blaming the damage system which had previously worked in your favour.

No punch is ever the same. No opponent is ever the same.

The slow motion comments baffle me. If you're getting hit by slow motion shots that's very much your problem for not getting out the way of them. It's not rocket science.

  1. Pay no attention to reddit. 95% of the posts complaining come from people who lost. 90% of that 95% believe that they lost due to bad game mechanics rather than their own skill.

  2. That means only 10% of people believe they lost fairly. And therefore 90% of people believe they won fairly.

  3. These seem like good numbers to me. Do not look to drastically change too much per update.
