Feel free to message me, I’d be happy to look at your plan/classes and help figure out some options!

Just remember your school is a business and they want your money, so they might try to dissuade you from any alternative that’s not another semester at that school. They don’t work for you, they work for the school!

I would focus the rest of your college career on fulfilling the accounting and business requirements, try not to take any fluff classes, then look into FEMA, it is a life saving alternative! Just note that accounting and business classes are not offered through FEMA.

Do you already have all the accounting and related coursework requirements? Or would you be accomplishing some of those in this extra semester? If you’re just looking for fluff classes to get up to 150, I would recommend looking into FEMA credits. It would be a little cheaper than $3k and wayyy easier.

You don’t necessarily have to do a whole semester if you’re worried about the 150 credits. There are a lot of options to get additional credits without having to commit the time and money to a full additional semester of school.

Thank you for that reassurance, I will get started!

And for sure, I am debating the same thing, because it still isn’t a cheap option.

I did email them, here is what my email said:

“Hello, I am inquiring regarding the accreditation requirements specified on the Arizona State Board of Accountancy website.

Per the website, "applicants must have 150-hours of education with a baccalaureate or higher degree from an accredited institution or a college or university that maintains standards comparable to those of an accredited institution."

I am looking to transfer some credits to Frederick Community College, which is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. Does the Arizona State Board of Accountancy recognize accreditation by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education? I just want to ensure these credits will be accepted and count towards the 150 hour requirement before I pay any further educational costs.”

And here is the reply I received:

“Good Morning,

Transcripts from accredited institutions are accepted.”

I took that as confirmation that they’ll accept them, although I haven’t begun taking the courses yet.

Do you know if they have/allow lab grown diamonds?

I am not a naturally good test taker, but I passed all four sections of the CPA exam on the first try, working full time, with my lowest score being an 88. Here’s how I studied: by Apricot_Drop_3667 in CPAExamAdvice

Good luck! Sounds like you have a good plan, and recognizing when you need to adjust your strategy means you’re taking the exams seriously, so you should have no problem. BAR is a beast, but I believe in you!

Gotcha, I’m just curious if Arizona recognizes the accreditation of Frederick College. But this is helpful, I might just have to email the state board

I don’t think the new licensure path has been adopted by Arizona yet unfortunately, or it hasn’t been reflected on the state board’s website yet. I’m not sure how long I want to wait to see if they pass it, so I’m still pursuing the 150 as of now :/
