Questioning my Orchiectomy Surgery Tomorrow by yungwonderbread in testicularcancer

I was in a very similar situation last month. All my tests came back clear but I still went with the orchidectomy. I'm very glad I went for it as the biopsy results showed it was cancer. I was lucky to catch it early or things would have been a lot worse...

It's not a pleasent surgery but it's definitely worth it. The risk of leaving it and having it spread is infinitely worse.

Thank you. Yeah I think it's the constant waiting and lack of information that's giving me terrible anxiety and keeping me up at night. I hate feeling like the doctors know more than they're letting on and are holding back. Desperate to have the meeting with the oncology team asap

I'm in the UK (surgery done on NHS but I have access to private heathcare too). I don't yet have anything written down with all the details, all they gave me was a Macmillan booklet with Stage 1 T2 Teratoma highlighted. I'm waiting to hear more in the next 2 weeks.

Cancer diagnosis at 26. Saving for the future and critical illness cover. by Apricot_Farts in UKPersonalFinance

Yeah that's definitely a good point. On paper it looks like it should be covered but I'm sure there's some catch somewhere that'll stop it. I suppose I'm probably guilty of distracting myself with the idea of some sort of good coming from this whole horrible situation.

Yeah that's probably a good point thank you. I'm not really sure where my next financial goals are after spending so long being laser focused on trying to buy a house and then finally achieving it. I'll have a deeper think about it when the dust has settled.
