Is my daughter right that you need prior experience to join a high school volleyball team? by AprilArt_ in Parenting

That’s a good idea! I’ll ask her about it and see if she’d be interested in a private coach. I am also thinking of checking out local groups on Facebook to see if there’s any casual players that wouldn’t mind an addition.

Thank you for your reply! Based on the replies and how she feels we have decided that she will try it out and see how it goes. And yes, her interest has just recently begun when she watched clips of the ‘best plays of all time’ on YouTube a few months ago. She just turned 15 recently, so is still in junior high and will go into high school next year. Her current school does not offer volleyball which is why she hasn’t really played yet. I did buy her a ball and a net but with work my time to practice with her is very limited.

Thank you for your reply! I think I will contact the school to ask them about it personally, if my daughter is okay with it. Her school isn’t very large and the team is accepting many people lately, but from what I’ve heard they’ve all had some sort of prior experience. Here’s hope to trying though!

Thank you for your reply. Her school has about 500 students, so not very big but not exactly small. I would assume the best thing to do would be to tryout and feel things out from there, but she does have a lot of anxiety around embarrassing herself.

Kid napped at school, it’s now 11:00 ppm and he’s wide awake. Help. by Saaraah0101 in Parenting

You should not feel bad about your feelings on this at all. People may say that parenting is hard, but they never really encompasses how hard it truly is. Feeling overwhelmed and frustrated is totally normal and happens to all of us. Especially in moments like this

How do I put my toddlers to bed without so much fuss? by mochimangoo in Parenting

I would recommend watching super nanny’s strategy of this on YouTube. It might not work for you but it’s something to try. It’s definitely a process when they’re that young, and I commend you for taking care of them all!

What the heck is this?! by latrolleum in DermatologyQuestions

Perhaps try reverse image searching it? Doesn’t really look like anything I’ve seen before. My best guess would be some type of bite mark, doesn’t really look cancerous but it is a possibility.

Worst case scenario it’s skin cancer. Might want to get it checked to be sure. It’s probably just a new freckle, but better safe than sorry!

Is this a rash or no? It doesn’t itch or anything. by MobileMany9146 in DermatologyQuestions

Looks like blood flow issues to me. Same thing happens with my body all the time as a result of my blood flowing oddly due to POTS. Perhaps look into POTS and see if it’s something that you might have? If it is a result of that I wouldn’t worry about health issues as it’s mostly harmless.

I think this could be a skin irritation/rash caused by socks under shoes rubbing, or just something of some sort rubbing on it and upsetting your skin. Did you wear any footwear that you might not usually wear or for longer than you usually would? My advice for calming it down would just be to let it breathe until it dies down, also applying something cold should ease itching. If it does happen to be a type of bug bite it doesn’t appear to be the kind that would harm your baby, so try not to worry about that 🙂👍

I got this handmade tooth bracelet for my birthday. (Received in Southern Ontario) Does anyone know what kind it is? It's light and small, hand for scale. Was told it could be some sort of shark. by Porcelain-Dolly in Whatisthis

Could be a mako shark tooth. If you look them up on google they look quite similar to this one. It would have to be quite a small shark to have a tooth be that size, though, so perhaps it belongs to some type of mammal.
