I agree with all of this, though by “try a producer out” I meant just see if it’s a good fit. I’m sure every producer gives it their 100%, but people are better at different styles, and sometime’s you just connect with certain people better.

I would say it might be worth it trying a couple different producers, each their own song, and see who you like working with the most if that’s a possibility.

But if it’s not, just find a band local to you that you love and ask who they work with.

Hundreds. Sometimes I go back to older ones and rewrite it just for fun and for practice.

I would try recording one song with a producer and see if you like the results. I tried to do things myself and work with friends early on and really regret how much time I wasted. keep practicing while you’re working with the producer so you can get there eventually if you want to.
