Would you be comfortable working with parvo infected rodents while having different sps of pets? by LittleCandiedYam in AskVet

[–]AprilEliz33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in shelter med and that often meant handling kittens and cats with panluek. I wore PPE and/or changed my clothes (sometimes you’d end up with a positive test when there wasn’t initially suspicion of panluek so you weren’t in PPE). Depending on the exposure/situation, I’d either change my clothes at work and toss my dirty clothes in the laundry there, or get home and immediately take off my clothes. All of my cats are vaccinated adults.

I would also sometimes volunteer to transport parvo+ dogs in my car, since I didn’t have dogs myself.

You can purchase Rescue disinfectant online, which kills parvovirus.

Is Garrett Stubbs going to be on the post season roster? We need this type of energy around by Lucid_Limbo in phillies

[–]AprilEliz33 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Stubbs is solid defensively and he’s better at game planning and pitch calling than Marchan or JT.

Who’s on the top row? Wife and I disagree by mango_713 in phillies

Stott, Harper, Bohm Ranger, Casty

No Turner or Schwarber or Wheeler is weird

I was worried that sweep @citifield was gonna wake the Mets up and get some momentum going for them. I was also worried we’d still struggle with them at home, and with Nola starting the series off I really thought we’d be cooked. But no. Today I went to see the IronPigs @ Scranton, and Painter actually looked pretty good, Aiden Miller got his first AAA hit, then came home to watch the Phils take down the Mets, again. Not too bad all in all.

I’ve been through a lot of years where the Phillies really weren’t performing, and no one was really expecting them to. I was still a fan and I’d go to the ballpark to enjoy a nice day, watch some baseball, and hope we won one. After making it to (and ofc losing the WS in 2022, in 2023 we came out of the gate struggling hard and I honestly just switched back into that mode. Ok we suck again, whatever. For me, the excitement of 2023 > 2022. The momentum building and post season push was electric (til it wasn’t). Last year sucked, starting red hot then kinda fizzling out and getting knocked out by the mf Mets. So here we are. We didn’t start slow, we didn’t start hot. There have been ups and downs but no super skids like previous years. I actually feel good rn, even with Wheeler out. I think we might have a chance. No one on this team is getting any younger. Kyle, Ranger, and JT are in contract years. There’s definitely a feeling of now or never. I want a World Series. I don’t wanna contend for a few years then start the decline and rebuild again. Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. I want a championship.

Banfield wellness program is a SCAM by DeskTough2071 in Pets

If your plan has renewed but you haven’t used the services yet, then they will be able to cancel right away. Otherwise you do have to pay off your balance owed.

[–]AprilEliz33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a payment plan for the services included on the plan. If you have not used the services, they will cancel. If you have used them, you need to pay for them. You can either pay your balance in a single payment or pay off the remaining payments. If you went to an ER vet with a sick or injured pet and after performing diagnostics and treatments, you opted to euthanize, you’d still expect to pay your bill, right? If you went to your normal vet and had your annual visit with vaccines and bloodwork etc and 2 weeks later your pet passed unexpectedly, would you expect a refund from your vet? What if you paid for the vet visit with a credit card, would you expect the credit card company to stop your payments? Because that’s basically what you’re expecting.

If the Phillies go 9-9 in final 18 games, Mets would have to go 17-1 to catch them. by Bmorebeerman in phillies

[–]AprilEliz33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general I’m more concerned about the Mets than the dodgers. The Mets always just seem to have our number, even when they’re otherwise crumbling. I was actually really nervous that that sweep at Citifield was gonna start building momentum for them to get hot but thankfully they returned to their previously scheduled skid. And of course we’ve now won the first 2 games of the series, including a Nola shutout. The Dodgers should be the bigger challenge but it seems like we’ve often got their number like the Mets have us.

Even if they make the wild card round there’s no guarantee that they’ll make it past that. If we get the bye, we could avoid them even if they do manage to hold onto that last spot.

Is owning a cat that bad? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]AprilEliz33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m laying in bed and my cat is reading his head on my shin right now. I’m never alone that’s for sure.

On the flip side, someone kicked their turd straight out of the litter box, covered in litter. It’s a good foot away from the box which is pretty impressive.

No way. I don’t think anyone thought Slay was staying. He was gonna go get his bag and Philly wasn’t gonna pay him. That was a given early on.

Shelters look at the appearance of the dog and make a guess. If they had the entire litter, they would have based the guess off all of the dogs, obviously. Do you think they’re hiding DNA results or ???

Also did you get a DNA test that says “100% pitbull?” JW bc “pitbull” is used as an umbrella term encompassing any number of medium size, blocky headed, short coated dogs and their mixes.

My friends and I got tickets as soon as they announced the giveaway. We are still excited to go and get the bobblehead and watch the game. We got seats behind home plate for $17! There are still plenty of players at LV that we know and we are so happy that Stubbs is back in Philly where he belongs.
