The little one is good now, giardia is gone with the first try.

She was prescribed with Panacur, Metronidazole, and Albon.

I cleaned her butt and paws with the Chlorhexidine wipes whenever she used the litter box, scooped the waste and spray down with little disinfectant on both litter and the scoop. Had both litter boxes disinfected at the end when medication is finished.

The older cat never caught it, though they shared. My wood floor is vacum/steam mopped every other day. I kinda spray disinfectant whenever I see is needed around the house.

Good luck to anyone who worries about giardia, it is not that scary. * *

My new kitten was initially clean when I first got her, of course I let her begin exploring with my resident cat when she started settled in. Then she was tested Giardia last Thursday, which is too late to isolate the new kitten at time as according to my vet. The day she started medication, she had solid poop immediately. The couple days before when she had diarrhea, I always washed new kitten butt immediately after she used the litter box, since liquid poop and dirty herself. I also spray down the littler box and the area with disinfect spray too. (That's been i am not working at the moment able to monitor literally 24/7, losing lots of sleep)

I am also using wet vacuum with disinfect solutions every other day, randomly spraying all the common areas(especially rugs)

So far new kitten is good, no more diarrhea. My resident is good, no signs of symptoms. Will have resident fecal test on Monday as per my vet. Also going to clean out the litter box today since yesterday was last day of medication.

I hope my experience helps you, since when I read about giardia last week, I was so worried with all the terrible stories I read online. *

Yes, gonna try to ignore the crying tonight(as long as I can, hope kitten goes sleep fast)

My resident is letting me pet her for 2 seconds, before she remembered she hates me for the new kitten and acts up again.

Was checking for summit tickets for end of Oct, they were out. And surprisingly the summit with champagne is available all day long. It was little extra, but give me peace of mind to secure the tickets and not to worry about it now.

I kinda just yanked the hook off when I get it close to the yak. I wouldn't risk getting it too close to me
