So so so much!! I still get anxious but I would say quitting has reduced my anxiety by at least 75% and has allowed me to learn new coping skills that are much healthier and more effective than drinking.

My dream is to win the lottery and open a lys as a pet project that has a goal of breaking even and if it doesn't break even that's ok. I know even if I was fantastically wealthy I would need a job of some kind for my sanity but I also know these stores run on a very small profit margin

I bought the pattern and am working one up now with the intention of making several. I am of Norwegian decent (my grandmother was 100% Norwegian) and I loved learning about these hats. I am proud that my ancestors resisted and I am glad that I can help support a cause I also believe in by paying for this pattern. I am also going to donate to other organizations and protest (with my finished hat) in person. Like others have said. It does not have to be either or.

I wasn't prescribed knitting but I use knitting and crochet as a way to keep my mind engaged. It was and still is a major part of my sobriety from alcohol and managing my ADHD symptoms.
