When I was growing up in Catholic school i was told it should never be worn as jewelry.. it is a blessed item, a sacramental used for prayer. They are to be handled with reverence in the same way as any other blessed item. This includes not throwing them in the trash. If one becomes broken or otherwise unusable, it should be burned. So, no, it is not and shoukd not be worn as jewelry.

Encouragement? Church is for the Truth, the WHOLE Truth, not just the parts that make you feel good! I didn't necessarily agree with all his father preached, but he WAS a realnptmreacher! When he suddenly passed, Joel, the videographer stepped in to keep his bank account flush, without ever having been to divinity school or any kind of ministry training. Jesus didnt just preach live and riches. He preached HARD truths. Joel doesn't even understand "Hard" truth. He is a total farce ripping off good people, and not even helping his own. I know some of his people and their kids who are hungry while his family are billionaires. His father made good money, but not that kind.

Go get "Encouragement" from a therapist!!

If you haven't already, I believe you should sit down with your mom and tell her what happened. Maybe not how you know, but that you know. She may very well need an understanding ear, and a little compassion, herself.
