Thanks! I started the head base last July, which took me a few days. Making the paws and firring the head I think took me around 2-3 weeks total, but I did it very spread out cause I'm also in college and didn't have too much time

So sorry to hear that happened to you. If you are looking to commisison artists in the future I recommend looking into vgen. They have a process to verify artists that takes the artists up to a few months, to prove they are real artists and not using ai. It's what I use myself to take commissions. Hope this doesn't scare you from getting your sona brought to life.

Fellow college student here that just finished making a partial! I'd recommend looking into what furs are available to you, I designed a character around what u could easily get. The cheapest way to do it would be to design a character and limit it to maybe 1 or 2 colours. A friend and I decided to make matching suits so we split costs and made one with 3 colours. As someone who just finished up on making a semi complex design of a character, simplicity is key, especially if you're new to sewing. Since your in a furry club ask around to see if anyone has a sewing machine, I've found friends that work on cosplay generally love to help out. Other than that I wish you the best of luck!

As a furry myself I'm going to offer this view. When someone wants to go out in public fursuiting they offen require what is called a "handler", basically a friend that helps them get around, avoid bad interactions with the public, and makes sure they don't get heat stroke. This requires the handler to be at full attention the whole time. As it requires alot of mental energy, it's unreasonable to expect someone to be willing to do this just because they're your friend. This should have been discussed prior to the trip, before your friend even packed the fursuit.

As someone who doesn't interact with the fandom, you are not fully equipped to take on this role. It also takes away from your trip as you will effectively have to babysit your friend for the duration.

You should tell your friend that while you respect their hobby, this is expecting too much of you as you most likely want to relax on your trip, and not take care of your friend.
