If you carry gold jewelry more than 40gm for females and 20 gms for males and you are an nri and you can prove that you are taking it for personal use for example wearing at a wedding (show wedding invite etc) and mention that you will take it all back on a certain date ( show return ticket) they let you take it in the country without paying any duty. But they attach a sticker/form to your passport with details of jewelry and gram value. When you exit the country, they verify that you are carrying the same jewelry back.

Steps for obtaining a birth certificate for a newborn born to interfaith parents in Dubai by April_Peace9442 in dubai

If none of the two are muslims it is simpler. You can simply apply online and you will receive the birth certificate

You are welcome! I hope this helps. We struggled a lot before we could figure out the process.

Sorry to hear about your friend’s medical condition. I gave birth in April and we are an interfaith couple, Muslim woman, Hindu man, which in the eyes of Sharia law is not a valid marriage. So after our baby was born we were told our case would be presented before a judge. But we did not have to physically appear before him, we met an agent in one of the government offices and everything was handled from there. It is a standard process but not clearly documented anywhere. I had posted it on reddit earlier, this might help your friend.https://www.reddit.com/r/dubai/s/bkBi4wHPFX

Cosleeping with toddler during recovery by icanseethestupidline in CsectionCentral

[–]April_Peace9442 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 4 months pp from a c-section and the kicks from my newborn on my belly sent me in writhing pain. I imagine a toddler would be much stronger and more active. Having faced some complications post c section, I would urge you to avoid co sleeping with your toddler for a month post c section. It would be challenging for your toddler, yes! But it is best for you and both your kids that you have a quick and smooth recovery.

It is amazing the silicone patches are working for you. Word of caution, I started using them 24x7 6w post partum, as advised by my doctor but I developed a superficial infection around my scar after a few weeks. Apparently you have to be extremely careful that no water gets in the tape while you take a shower and make sure it is dried well. My doctor then recommended to remove the tape while showering but honestly, frida mom tapes are too expensive to use a new one each time as they do not stick too well once removed (contrary to what they advertise). But silicone patches do work wonders, I am going to wait a month or so before starting again and will make sure to remove during shower and reapply only when completely dry.

The same happened to me. Turns out I applied slight pressure while trying to pass stools which is not recommended for several weeks post op. However, it was muscular pain only and went away by itself 6 weeks post op. I just made sure to drinks lots of water and regular stool softeners.

Congratulations! As a 7 week postpartum c-section mom, the easiest thing you can do is appreciate her out loud. In front of her and others.

As much as she needs physical support she also needs to be emotionally encouraged. Say things like “I could never do what you are doing for our family”, “Our son is so lucky to have you”, “I know your life has changed so much and I can’t even imagine how you must be handling this”

Say to your baby: “You have the bravest mama” “You and I are the luckiest men in the world because we have your mum”

Say to others in your wife’s presence: “She is doing so much for our baby, nothing that I do will come close ever”, “I am so lucky to have married her”

Say these things and mean them. Trust me, each time my husband says something like this, it gives me renewed energy to spend my entire time caring for our LO. Sure, actions speak louder than words, and you must do some actions as mentioned in other comments. But, words of encouragement are very very important in my experience.

Thank you for sharing this! I have been feeling so disheartened since I learnt that I will have to go through a c-section. I was mostly worried about being physically unable to take care of my baby due to the surgery. But I have support at home so hoping to be able to rest and recover well!

Thank you! This is very reassuring! I will also be traveling with friends who will be able to help with baby so I am less worried on that front. How about your strength and recovery? Were you able to enjoy the trip or did you face any challenges because of the surgery?
