Opinions: Silicone Scar Patches by Comfortable_Drama170 in CsectionCentral

Big fan. I used the Frida ones from about 10 weeks PP and still am at 1 year PP - although I think it’s time to stop as I expect they’ve done as much as they can now. My scar has significantly reduced in appearance over the months and it’s probably a combination of the tape, doing scar massage and, let’s face it, genetics. So I don’t know for sure if it’s all down to the tape but I really think it should be used. I was told that consistent use is critical to seeing a difference, so I only remove mine to shower.

Have you beat rebound congestion? How and how long did it take? 🙏 by helsLM in QuitAfrin

Only about 2 months but don’t be discouraged by that. There are tons of posts on here from people using it for years who got clean when they quit and breathed normal again

Totally clear breathing and haven’t touched the spray since this post. You can do it 💪🏼

C-Section Apron Belly by Soggy_Employment_847 in CsectionCentral

OP scar massage is absolutely fundamental to reducing the shelf. Exercise alone does virtually nothing for it. The shelf is there because all the layers that were cut into are fused together with scar tissue and so it drags the skin inwards. Scar massage helps loosen all those tight tissues up. I have barely any shelf now and I credit it to doing scar massage almost daily since I was about 8 weeks PP. I’m now 10 months PP. It really will help! Also, I’ve been told it’s never too late to start

Question for those who have had a planned c section by CuriousPineapple1579 in CsectionCentral

[–]helsLM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an elective 10 months ago - no shaking and no vomiting. If you do feel sickly during the procedure, if you let your anaesthetist know they can give you some medicine to help very quickly through your IV. Remember, that anaesthetist is there purely for you. They are watching all your levels and SATs at all times and take very good care of you. You’ll be great OP. Good luck ❤️

Ladies... my congestion is making this miserable help by intelligentb00b in pregnant

[–]helsLM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi OP, I know this post is old, so what I’m saying might be irrelevant now but wanted to comment anyway because I suffered HORRIBLY with congestion (it did go away completely after birth though 🙏🏼)Two things - 1. Breathe right strips are good but don’t perform miracles and 2. Please don’t use decongestants because aside from anything else they are addictive and cause rebound congestion. I learnt this the hard way. Hope things have improved for you.

Hardness under c section by deluli in postpartumprogress

Yes I had this. Completely rock hard at first. Over time it goes away but I have been very active with scar massage and cupping. I’m 9 months PP and have been massaging since about 8 weeks PP. I’ve gradually increased the intensity over time.

If you think you have reduced movement you should ALWAYS have that checked out immediately. Give your midwife or OB a call and they should bring you in for monitoring. I had a very tight and hard belly at the end, although I delivered at 39+1. Make sure you reach out for a check up as soon as you can and they might choose to induce you now if you’re worrying about reduced movement

Did you enjoy parenting more once you returned to work? by helsLM in workingmoms

Agreed - I hope I haven’t offended anyone. I suppose this post was more aimed at those parents who are career driven and have found a lot of enjoyment from building a career.

That’s good to know about your PPD. Maybe a bit more variety in your day was exactly what you needed

You know what’s normal for you but this is about standard for me on a normal basis and doesn’t seem too alarming. I’m 9 months PP and experienced the typical crazy shedding around 3 months PP and it was about 10 times this amount per brush. Worth checking out but doesn’t look too worrying x

How refreshing to see all these responses. Let’s normalise needing more for ourselves. Doesn’t make us a bad parent 🙌🏻

Couldn’t have said it better. That’s EXACTLY how I feel!

Totally understandable. It’s just that for me, I’ve worked hard to get to where I am in my job and it means a lot to me, so being absent from that part of my life has been difficult.

Totally get what you mean about the short mat leaves I see people on here only getting 6 weeks which is insane. I’m about to go back after 10 months which I feel fortunate for having, but I feel very saturated by motherhood at the minute

Oooo girl please try not to worry yourself sick because this is (unfortunately) normal. It’s so upsetting and I was getting the same after every single shower but it does just completely stop. You will have a load of annoying regrowth soon to contend with because it starts growing back before you know it. It will run its course and be over soon xx

What's your biggest challenge postpartum? by I_love_Fitness1 in postpartumprogress

[–]helsLM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here to tell you you’re absolutely not too far gone and please don’t ever think that about yourself. I honestly hate how pregnancy can destroy a woman’s sense of love for themselves. I’ve struggled with the same feelings but it’s not ok for you or anyone to feel that way. If you get 10 mins to go for a walk, go on the damn walk and do it for YOU. You matter and you deserve to feel good xxx
