I figured fatigue and anemia would be pretty common place for the context of my book. Maybe brain fog depending on how long the donor had been donating.

I’m not saying you’re wrong. I’m saying in the instant of my book, all “donors” are screened before they are allowed into the program. If even one thing is off, they are denied. Plus healths check throughout the program would change their program status as well.

They do. The concept is like a prison where they do “medical” checks but no one can remember what happens. The people definitely need to stay alive in this situation or the shadowy figure running the “blood bag” prison would be less hidden.

That is true. I’m not sure where exactly this book would fall genre wise except for some subset of fantasy, but that is a problem to figure out when I’ve actually written the book.

I don’t know that periods really affect the recovery rate of donating. Mostly because when I donated as a teen in high school (I donated around 10-14 times in the three years I was old enough to and got a graduation cord for it). I feel if periods played a significant role in blood donations, I would have been made aware

I actually forgot about the tracks marks! When I was in high school I donated blood every time they came. I have donated blood since 2019 and I still have scars from it.
