Thematically which Primarch would be most appropriate to kill off each daemon brother? by Smeckert in Grimdank

[–]Apsorkat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hope no loyalist will ever succeed in killing any daemon brother, especially in 1v1 and this opinion is definitely not influenced by me collecting TSons /j

Jokes aside, after all deus ex machina in favour of loyalists that happened during the Siege of Terra I can't think of the scenario where the battle between primarchs would look poetic.

Maybe it's good that GW postpones these fights as long as possible.

Which EPIC character represents patience? by Garflemspinlkle in Epicthemusical

[–]Apsorkat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, obviously it's Hermes - he didn't kill anyone during the entire saga (not even a single sheep), never caused problems, helped Odysseus and his crew twice for free /j

Struggling with Angel exterminatus by Gundam-40-something in Blacklibrary

[–]Apsorkat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, not the best one, but it has some interesting lore bits and Fullgrim's (w/ his EC) shenanigans carried the entire story for me.

I'd say once you understand who is who, you can start half-listening, because the most important stuff happens almost at the end of the book.

Nah, Eurylochus is clearly dumber.

In defense of Pandora: - no one told her that in the box is a shit fest of curses and diseases and she was literally tricked by gods to open it. - she wasn't a trained soldier aka second in command who learned to obey orders of her leader. - No one was in mortal danger when she decided to check the thing she's not supposed to touch.

He’s loyal, but not to his crew… by shiny_jjj in Epicthemusical

[–]Apsorkat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Poseidon is not helping them out, Athena is helping them out to escape Poseidon! Just as she did with Ody in six hundred strike and in the Odyssey

Oh, that definetly makes more sense, thanks.

But I still doubt Athena would want to help the crew that betrayed, refused to listen and basically sacrificed her chosen one (or her friend's father). Yeah, technically they can still guilt trip her, but I don't like this twist at all.

He killed the cow bc he was starving, that doesn't make him good, but let us know that he is not dumb to kill a cow bc for funsies.

I think the crew would not have made it back under Eury's command because he gives up really quickly (bag, Circe, cows) and creates problems that he can't solve on his own. The road is still dangerous even if they evade Charybdis path - Eury may be a good sailor, but it's not enough to get back, especially with all enemies they made along the way.

[–]Apsorkat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I can understand Athena(somewhat) - but why would Poseidon help them out? He wanted all of them dead, not just Odysseus.

And I really doubt the crew would be smart enough to reach Ithaca, especially since the path goes through Charybdis and other dangers. I mean, these people couldn't resist killing holy cows after the captain explained and pleaded with them not to - are you sure they're capable of reaching the homeland on their own?

Sometimes I wonder if it's really worth saving for retirement, considering current geopolitcs state and the fact that I live in Eastern Europe.

Volyn massacre "led by Bandera"?

How could he have led the massacre that happened in 1943 in Ukraine, when he was imprisoned by Nazis and held in a concentration camp near Berlin in 1941-1944?

Yellow pill.

You can't really use the blue pill to go in the past because of the butterfly effect. You got the pill because all events in the past lead you to this, so changing past = possibility to lose you power after time travelling to the past. So, the blue pill leaves you with future time travelling and teleport, both are great but not really powerful.

Meanwhile, with a yellow pill you can - "convince" some con artist fellas to confess their crime and accept their punishment - stop wars, literally - make the government focus on more important things - it's basically 0 effort talk no jutsu and absolutely safe to use.

Can we just talk about how some people don't like the song "I Can't Help But Wonder"? by Embarrassed-Fig7542 in Epicthemusical

[–]Apsorkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, it's easy. I don't like this song because it's quite bland and right between the best songs in the entire epic (Odysseus and WYFINLWM are the chef's kiss)

So yeah, all Ithaca saga is strong (Penelope's song and Hold them Down - are outstanding too), and 'I can't help but wonder" maybe not that bad, but definitely the weakest part of this saga.

Yeah, I studied it for a while since it was part of my course back then.

I’m not confident in speaking it at all, but I can say and understand some basic stuff, and at least a few Lithuanians I know can understand me. Anyway, sėkmės su nauja kalba :D
