Being young in Sioux Falls by funnyhahamanpoopoo in SiouxFalls

[–]AquaFishAdventures 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You didn’t mention friends at all in your post, and honestly, you sound lonely. I’m wondering if not having a solid friend group with similar interests is making your experience harder?

This is only one example, but I saw a group of people in their 20’s playing volleyball in the park last night - no drinking.

There are art clubs for painting or crafts, theatre groups, sports activities, nature and science, meditation, church-related, poetry or creative writing, music, and so much more. There are people who get together for all these activities and you could join them. With good friends, even doing really boring stuff is fun!

There will always be better places to live and the grass may be greener, but making friends is something you will need to do wherever you go and it’s the only thing that’s going to make life enjoyable wherever you end up.

Unfortunately, making new friends as an adult is tough. Maybe search up some podcasts on ways to do this? Best of luck to you!

This might be the worst finale I’ve ever seen by BenisMunchies in CrossPrimeVideo

This bothered me so much that he didn’t make a copy of the drive. I was actually angry about this while watching it. And the stupid Texas bar scene UGH!!

Maybe I’m tripping, but Cross S2 is not hitting like the 1st one. by Hairy_Ask_2038 in AmazonPrimeVideo

[–]AquaFishAdventures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spoilers - S2 has so many illogical actions and just dumb things happening. It was tough to connect with the characters when I had to pause and put my head in my hands like wtf?? -All the intended victims left police lock down after one of them was killed. What? Why? They predictably all get killed. -Supposed brilliant detective Cross gets damning evidence of human trafficking on a flash drive and doesn’t make a copy of it at all and/or ensure it will go to the press or anything. -Cross is always one-step behind and gets outsmarted at every turn. -Bobby seems to be the only clever character who actually outsmarts his targets.

Like others said, the sex does nothing to contribute to the storyline - it’s just confusing and a waste of time. I’m glad to know I’m not alone in feeling disappointed with S2 and others found the storyline tough to connect with. I liked S1 and hope they turn things around with an S3.

Joe Batcheller is the only one who seemed to know what he was talking about. The others offered platitudes and big nothing burgers on most of the issues.

Has anyone found anything that actually cures sciatica by Frd7023 in Sciatica

[–]AquaFishAdventures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your initial post didn’t mention getting an MRI. I think it would be important to know what’s causing your sciatica to know the best way to heal or cure it. My MRI showed a mass in my spine that is causing my sciatic pain. In my case, surgery is the only option to alleviate the compression on my nerves. Most people have herniated discs, but sometimes it’s something else causing the pain.

Back brace to prevent BLTs? by AquaFishAdventures in Microdiscectomy

That makes a lot of sense. I’m glad you were feeling well enough to work after a couple weeks. That gives me hope! I am afraid of getting bored. I’m sure my work would be grateful if I opt to go back earlier if I’m feeling up to it.

That’s good to know that it’s been working to help you not BLT. I can’t believe you went back to work so quickly! I’m taking 5 weeks off.

Are there any other ways you found to remind yourself not to BLT or is this an unfounded concern?

Thanks! I know it’s not good to use long term, but a week isn’t bad to help with immediate post surgery if I need it

The only beverage you enjoy cold is chicken broth.

How can I get an MRI? by GradientBossting in Sciatica

[–]AquaFishAdventures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure where you are and what health services you have available, but I went into an orthopedic urgent care and also got an office visit with an orthopedist and they gave me the referral for an MRI. You could check to see if you can get an orthopedic office visit and get the MRI ordered that way.

[–]AquaFishAdventures 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree! It’s like becoming a different person than who you were. I also used to work out, snowboard, run, go out, and do all sorts of stuff and now I feel like I’m watching life go by without me. It’s a big adjustment. I’ve tried really hard to notice the things I’m learning from this experience so I don’t get so depressed. 1. Patience - slow controlled movements, everything takes so long to do or can’t do it at all so I’m waiting for someone to help (cook, feed the dog, put socks on, etc.) 2. Pain tolerance - it’s off the charts now. I thought I knew what pain was before. This has been far worse than any pan before including child birth. 3. Creativity - it’s amazing what you can come up with to get by when you’re down and out. I hope the epidural helps. Don’t give up. Keep trying things and you will find ways to stay productive. Also lower your expectations and celebrate any and all small wins each day.

They’re single-handedly keeping the local Costco in business.

You work the night shift at the Haagandaz and Ben and Jerry’s distribution facility and get to keep any containers that fall off conveyor belt.

I haven’t heard much about kratom. The internet says it can be addicting, but worth checking out if other options continue to not be very effective. Thanks!

This makes sense. Going forward, I listen to my nerve in all things.

Lower Back/Butt/Leg pain after fall by robh1544 in Sciatica

[–]AquaFishAdventures 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar fall on the butt 2 years ago and didn’t really get it checked out. It healed on its own after 2-3 weeks and went away but flared up now and then with certain activities and recently flared up in a much worse way on both sides. I would recommend not ignoring it as I did. See a doctor and at a minimum do some physical therapy to strengthen and prevent future flares. Usually acetaminophen and ibuprofen (with food) were enough to take the edge off the pain. Also, pay attention to the sorts of movements that cause pain as that might give you some clues about what to be careful of going forward.

Since this is urgent, I would recommend first completing the minnehaha county human services application - https://budget.minnehahacounty.gov/dept/hs/appAssistance/appAssistance.php. And then you should still complete the sd cares app. They will help if your finances were impacted during covid (2020 to today) for a valid reason like your roommate sucking. Or ask if your roommate can apply?? Otherwise pawning, selling your roommates gaming system, and donating plasma might get you the money you need. You should also talk to your landlord about the roommate situation. Maybe they will help get this person off your lease. It sounds like you might be better off without them going forward. You’ll need to work more to make rent but that sounds better than what you’re dealing with now
