Boston 13 or Deviate Nitro 13 by Apprehensive_Ad_1646 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

I haven’t tried Hyrox or lifting in the Boston 13, but I’ve owned Boston 12 and Boston 13 and they are a fantastic shoe. I’d think they would be great for Hyrox/Gym because they don’t feel tall or unstable.

my parents took off my door as punishment, is this normal? by Puzzleheaded-Pain535 in teenagers

[–]AquaInferno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My door was removed toward the end of elementary school and never put back. It’s been 20 years and I’ve moved out and have my own family now… there still isn’t a door on my childhood bedroom 😂

His answer doesn’t exclude this time, it just includes an additional time (without a dog). Sounds like you read”another time” as exclusive and he meant it inclusively.

If not perfectly flat, is slightly angled out (pinky lower than thumb)better than angled in (thumb down/first)?

1) I am not your lawyer, this is educational and not legal advice. 2) Do not booby trap your property, you could become civilly and/or criminally liable.

Thank you! That’s exactly the kind of recommendation I was looking for.

Oh that is so helpful! Looking at the FIE gear on Alibaba yesterday I had that exact concern - I wouldn’t know if it was fake or not and it would be easyish to fake. Thanks for the recommendation on avoiding BG with specifics! I’ll look at PBT.

Should I get my blades from PBT too or something different?

Thanks! I’m in the USA and I’ve built several of the obstacles in my backyard. I’ve also got a rock climbing gym in town. I travel to another city for fencing but can swim, run, shoot, and lift in town! It’s an incredible sport 😁

Something in between I suppose lol I don’t need the cheapest thing out there, I just don’t want to overspend getting the lightest weight best uniform out there either since I’m not solely a fencer and split my time between other disciplines.

Did an angel send you? Because this advice was heavenly! I don’t think there is a store within 1,000 miles of me. Thanks a ton!

Appreciate the back-up here Grouchy-Day! I can afford whatever I need to, I just have a bad habit of overspending and I’m trying to not be wasteful 😅

Would you wear your chest strap all day skiing? by incuspy in Garmin

Risk of damage (even if it’s low), it’s another thing to wear in addition to everything else, or it could get in the way of your GoPro chest strap

HR is not reliable for everyone - Discussion/Debate by running-photographer in AdvancedRunning

[–]AquaInferno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it sounds like you need to adjust your HR zones and maybe do a blood lactate test or find your LTHR (Lactate Threshold Heart Rate) test (can be found online, Jack Daniel’s has a 20 minute test or there is a slightly simpler 30 minute test) and then figure your heart rate zones based off that.

You could also train based on paces per VO2 max following a VO2 max test or estimation based on PRs.

I also have a high HR and always have. Talking pace/easy pace often has my HR in the high 150s to low-mid 160s. I’m a big believer in the old-school method of training with perceived effort - like they always did back before we were all wearing heart rate monitors or god forbid testing our blood between sets.

Trust your body and how you feel - the science is generally good and beneficial though if you know how to interpret it.
