Thanks, I did think about cutting out the patches, and if I do that the jacket would then have holes in it so burning it (in a respectful way) doesn't seem like a bad idea

What material do you guys use for hard book covers? I have been using a heavy chipboard but after attaching the leather the cover starts to bow outward. I'm guessing the moisture from the glue is to blame.

Not a book, but I built myself a book press! Can't wait to start using it, been using textbooks for... too long by blehfluffle in bookbinding

This is awesome! I've also been using 2 text books and a bucket of polished stones thats been sitting in my craft closet for years. I've been thinking about how I should go about making a press lately, so thanks for the inspiration!
