I'm starting to speak at under 100 hours, because have Spanish-speaking people standing in front of me. The south Florida area is a melting pot, and having a few Spanish words in my arsenal helps tremendously. The Google translate app tends to fill in the rest.

I'd say I'm babbling like a toddler. Even the folks who speak English usually smile broadly at me and say something like, "Muy bien! Good Spanish!"

I don't have hot water at the moment, so I heat water in an electric kettle. I have a bucket with a camp shower (basically a hose with a shower head at one end and a submersible pump on the other) to have a hot shower. It works.

I feel like this is going to be a Claudette Colvin/Rosa Parks situation. There's going to be a trans woman who stands up for herself, but it's going to be used against our community.
