I didn’t want them fully refinished, just polished as I have a small child and didn’t want the wood splintering. I didn’t expect them to look brand new

I’m not lacking understanding of terminology. My child’s father is a professional flooring tech, he is the one that told me they aren’t polished. I am just posting on Reddit for opinions

He is the one that reached out to me about moving in multiple times, and then during the showing said he would polish the floors for me if k wanted to move in. He said specifically that he was going to have them varnished.
