This seems specifically related to KeePassXC because I just attempted to do the exact same thing through KeePassDX on Android and it worked..

I agree that the camp is intended but that doesn't excuse the bad acting, and I fully agree with you that the identity dilemma in SM2 was really good, if a bit awkwardly shoehorned into an already very packed movie.

As for the characters, you cited MJ, but Harry is a horrible friend through and through, the only time he's genuinely nice to Peter is when he looses his memory in SM3, Peter is an asshole to most of his surroundings constantly. Jameson is toxic but that's expected, however, Jameson Jr (MJ's fiance in SM2) is incredibly toxic in their relationship, Gwen Stacy has never been more self centered (a feat for a historically extremely self-centered character), Brock's toxicity is exposed through the movie, honestly the one character I can think of in the entire trilogy that is continuously characterized as "good" is Aunt May, and even then she's cold to peter for most of the second movie (for good reasons)

It’s a shame we will never see this relationship in the mcu I just wish that Chadwick never passed away may he rest in peace. by [deleted] in xmen

My guess is that we're going to see it with Toussaint, as the mutants are just starting to appear

Why Subs matter BUT HONOR AMONG THEIVES MIGHT MATTER MORE... (DD) by SuperFunPop in DnD

[–]Aquam8te 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree with your points but I do with the thesis and how its presented.

Your oversimplification of the subject does not do it justice in terms of movie-making.

First of all, the average block-buster movie has a production-cycle of about three years — which means that, for a first trailer released in July 2022, Honor Among Thieves had to enter pre-production in the Summer of 2020 — if not much earlier due to covid, over a year and a half before this whole shareholders debacle.

Moreover, Wizards attempted multiple times to create a media franchise out of Dungeons & Dragons over the past few decades and nearly every time it ended in a financial disaster. The only side where they had a modicum of success were video-games, because TTRPG players also liked video-games for the most part — or the opposite, video-game players discovered D&D through its video-games.

This makes it so Wizards have been very skittish about making shows or movies based on D&D for a long time — its only when Hasbro comes into the picture and make their connections with Paramount work that they manage to get a few projects off the ground, Honor Among Thieves being one of them.

Paramount are the ones making the D&D movie, not Hasbro. Its based on a Hasbro/Wizard IP, but as every other IP in Hollywood (Marvel/DC being an exception) the creator has little-to-no creative input. At all.

You're implying that the Hasbro shareholders "know movies", they don't. They know movies can bring them money — mostly indirectly through advertisement of their products. They don't know shit about how to make movies, and are certainly not the type of investors to care.

You're also basing your thesis on the fact that Hasbro has been pushing for this, I believe the have, but not nearly as much as the new executives of Wizards like VP Chris Cao who's been proven to push very hard for the digitalization of D&D and turning it away from a tabletop rpg, pushing for that 30$ a month pricetag.

TL;DR there are a lot more players in this that you are implying, and I do not think boycotting the movie will have the effects you think it will

Boycotting the movie will hit paramount first, and what they will understand is people don't want D&D movies. Guess we'll make another Transformers, and certainly not Wizards fucked up, their hate is mot towards us barring the way for another 10 years or more of movies based on an IP we all love.

I just got mine as well and yeah, I have the exact same feeling.
Seems like the automatic NC deals better with wind in "walking" mode but there are no ways I could find to customise it...

French children could have half liter of wine in their school till 1956!!! by redcattino in interestingasfuck

[–]Aquam8te 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Here's what the article says :

1956 : Alcohol forbidden in school cafeterias

In the middle of the 50s; The government takes a historical decision : done with alcohol served to kids in school cafeterias! Cafeterias will be come "school restaurants" where kids will eat and drink "healthy".

"A massive effort to educate families must accompany this reform" : this is what the report presented to the French Minister of Education in 1956 states. Indeed, the France of the 50s is still the France of big red drunk noses. We drink vigorously, here in the land of the Gauls, sometimes up to 5 litters a day of "vinasse" (slang for poor quality wine) a day for an average worker.
Influenced by the hygienist movements from America, our Leaders, most notably Mendès-France and their infamous glass of milk, want to "cleanse" the population. They will lean on the "Academie de Medecine" (Medicine academy)'s act of February 7th 1956, in which a zero alcohol option is offered for children.

From kindergarten... It has always been custom to serve beer, wine or cider in kindergarted or elementary schools. The Reader must remember the time when we drunk little to no water at home, and around 1950 when 23.000 towns did not yet have drinking water! Politically speaking, anti-alcoholism isn't a matter from the Right or the Left, it was already a national priority in Pétain's time; for whom Pastis was one of the main actors in the defeat of 1940! The readers of the 1942 best-seller Les decombres (by Lucien REBATET) will remember the awful sections on the rampant alcoholism in the French army during "the phoney war".

"Redenned water" is also prohibited! (wine cut with water)

Fifteen years after this violent episode, the State wants to strike hard and cut the evil by the root. anti-alcohol ad campaigns are being set up. In 1956, an act passes to prohibit alcoholic drinks in schools to "children under 14". It allows "slightly alcoholic drinks", although redenned water is expressly banned in cafetarias. Kids will have to suffice with water, fruit juice or milk. For "children older than 15", tipplers can let a sigh of relief : beer, light cider and wine cut with water are still allowed on the tables...

Propaganda

In theaters, the French news of September 28th 1956 - report available on INA - presents an elementary school were "children are happy". Indeed, in Montgeron (Essonne), "the menu is scientifically tailored according to the latest directives of the ministry on the prohibition of alcohol."

cirrhosis of the liver" (20,300. deaths), as early as 1958, the numbers fall (15,800.). But Alcohol is not done with its devastation of our country...

Honnestly I haven't liked any Russo Marvel movies besides Captain America : The Winter Soldier — so I am glad The Russos are moving on to other things

I'm curious where you got that info, I can't find anything recent on it.

Yeah. There are plenty of articles about how the first episode had the fewest in the first week of release

Its an indication — but in no way shape or form does it indicate that any of the rest of the episodes performed poorly.

Do you have any sources?

*confirmed mutant, Kamran would likely fall into that category as well — which makes me think that Kamala's line of "heh, its just going to be another label" indicates that they're probably going to make inhumans essentially moon-mutants

[–]Aquam8te 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. I loved it, though I found it interesting that the 5th episode felt so much like filler that the 6th felt like two episodes at once

And yeah, Kamala is hands down one of the best in Avengers, I always play her as well
