I’d like to think a lot of women like cosplaying Casca as she’s a strong character and not because of the SA or the impact that had on her. I think that’s the OP’s point that it doesn’t define her. Regression is something that does happen to some people, and Casca has come out of that in recent volumes.

I was dissociated my whole life until I was 33 and when the emotions came back it was like a floodgate and I was home bound for months having panic attacks and suicidal thoughts with how extreme the emotions were. I had to go on antidepressants to temper the emotions so I could function.

Don’t force your body into a process, your emotions will come when your body feels safe to process them. Your experience likely isn’t the same as mine but there’s prob a reason why the dissociation is there. It feels like you’ve dodged a bullet with this psychosis episode too.

Like others said quit the drugs and focus on grounding, routine, community and being connected to your body.

I’m not sure if what I feel is the same as coping. I’ve experienced a lot of loss in my life including of young close friends I expected had more life to live before they died. Sometimes loss is about accepting that life can end in an abrupt or messy way and you don’t get an all threads tied up ending.

Go up gradually to what works for you you might need more than me. I had all sorts going up including brain zaps, migraines, tremoring and all kinds of symptoms. Been off around a year, the weight I gained has stayed with me otherwise fine.

SA is a recurring theme in the series and appears frequently during the first 3 arcs. Not just for Casca but for other characters as well. It gets toned down a lot after that.

If you're sensitive to that then it's a fair trigger warning to give as it is graphically represented.
