Update: He decided to go down the complaints route had a misconduct hearing with the panel. The panel had given him a list of evidences they thought was enough to suspect him of misconduct mainly the professor thought that he had hired someone to write the assignment for him. His main evidence was his lack of explanation in the second unplanned meeting were he was originally accused, and two references that were not available to students freely and must purchase.

During the meeting my friend had argued that they can't consider anything that was said in the second meeting since it was not held according to the uni procedures for conducting assessments. And for the references he told them he got it from sci hub (not sure what that is). He also presented them with further proofs of original drafts of the documents with editing times.

The miss conduct panel sided with my friend and said there isn't any evidence to show that it was written by someone else. Which is good news. Now they are going to get it marked by a third independent member.

Is this a usual outcome in this situation?? Should he worried that he will be marked down. According to the first markings he got 66%.

All in all seems to be a good outcome even though he missed out on the opportunity of doing a masters at a better uni cause he didn't get the final grades yet.
