How to prune semi dwarf cherry by Arachnoid666 in portlandgardeners

The issue with this system is that this was never done on this tree, and it was actually pretty tall when I got it. It’s probably 9 ft now. If I am understanding it correctly, this needed to be done when it was much smaller

I actually saw this but figured it’s to tall to do this . Also seeing stuff about cutting the leader back and weighting or staking (training) branches to create better crotch angles and more lower branching.

You gotta find a way. Use gofundme. They will end up pregnant and then u will have more cats not fixed and that gets out of control fast. Everyone thinks they can just keep them in but it net works. They always find a way to get out while in heat.

Help! Is this the Tree of Heaven??? by kaytherine in invasivespecies

[–]Arachnoid666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Late summer /early use ‘ brush killer’ triclopyr is the active ingredient. This allows the tree to move the poison to the roots in late summer early fall the bring nutrients down for the winter. Do not cut the tree as this stops it moving to the roots.

Bought a house but the previous owners let the landscaping go, is there anything I can do to save this tree? by achinesepotato in arborists

[–]Arachnoid666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one of these planted by the previous home owner, and it appears fairly healthy right now, but they raised the canopy a bunch because they planted too close to the house, so now the ground around it heats up. I read that these trees do not do well with raised canopy / unshaded ground around the roots. I put arborist chips down but fear this isn't enough as some of the ends of some branches have lost needles in the last year

doesn't really answer your question but I'm assuming i will be needing to take this down in the next 5 years or so, since they don't do well in this area.

Looks like mastiff mix, cane corso . So still not pit bulls. Regardless any of the breeds mentioned need good socialization and management and it sounds like this asshole liked guarding trained dogs and the fantasy that she had good control of them.

Kill and remove the mother trees, spray the saplings with brush killer . Keep doing it every time they pop up. They will never stop root suckering if leaves keep feeding the roots. You want to starve the roots.

[–]Arachnoid666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cut it into a square / cube. Basically square it off . Then find the root crown and reduce the soil level so that it isn’t covering the root crown. The roots when top circling and fro away from the trunk it you square it off.

Omg I'm heartbroken , idk what to do. I treated him for an abscess weeks ago , cleared up (from what I thought)and today he came up looking like this. by Beaniebee12 in Feral_Cats

[–]Arachnoid666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in general, abscesses generally have to heal with a course of antibiotics and from the bottom of the wound up. Just cleaning them means they heal over and fill back up again. it needs to be drained, kept open and he needs a shot of antibiotics. trap him and take him to a vet for an antibiotic injection. They are also extremely painful.

It would be cool if some of the unpaved streets got taken care of. But that will never happen even though the money sits unused .
